Mistress of Chaos
Jan. 28, 04
Part 1
By the DM
You awake with a start and sit up. Such a vivid dream of your former master just now, and yet, you cannot remember a single thing about it.
You pull yourself to the side of the bed and look down. You still have your robes one from last night. The many late night sessions with the Master is wearing you down. You crashed into bed with exhaustion last night, and it’s getting to be a habit.
You wash up and a Tower servant brings you up some oatmeal and sausage for breakfast and leaves. You change into another Robe and sit down to your meal.
The late night sessions are going nowhere. No contact can be made outside of the sphere. The force behind the dwindling magic has not appeared and no word on any allies that may be of any help has come about.
So this is what it is like to be the most powerful Conclave Master, and not be able to do anything about the powers arrayed against you. At least you have an excuse you grumble. Your father always had the magic and never faced so dreadful a time. You have read his account of what he would have done should Raistlin Majere made good on his return from the Abyss. It would not have been enough. He felt as inadequate then as you do now.
Small comfort, you lament.
Everyday, you have to plot how to begin. What new tact will you take?
You grasp your Staff, and walk down to the Library, and head to the map room. ON the floor is the perfect representation of 5th Age Ansalon. You walk across the floor, as you have done many mornings like this one, waiting for the epiphany that will head you in the right direction.
As you walk over the regions of the continent, your mind races with intelligence reports that you have received on the state of affairs of those realms.
“It always begins in the east.” A voice says.
Your mind goes through the catalog of names, faces and voices to match this new presence. You give up. You look up to see the master of the Tower, having donned another identity.
“What did you say?”
“I said it has always begun in the east. The First, Seconded, and Third Dragon Wars all began in the Khalkist Mountains. The Cataclysm was wrought by the misguided Kingpriest in Istar, the War of the Lance begun in Sanction and Neraka. The Campaign of Summer Flame began from the Isle of Storm’s Keep; The Lost Irda Isle of the east sea brought the All Father from the Greystone. Malystryx attacked the Dairy Plains . . . from the east. It is circumstantial . . . yes, but nonetheless, it is all fact.

The Wizard’s Four + Longshot and The Master of the Tower
Part 4
By the DM
2/17/2004
Lashia enters the astral conversation after speaking with the Master of the Tower. He also appears along with Longshot Farwalker.
“My apologies for interrupting, but I have news I also wanted Karnea is hear. Longshot just told me a story that you all might be interested in. First He says that Lord Rage has arisen and he and Gilidarius have been camped out until recently in Skullcap. They helped Lucius enter the realm of the dead so he could continue his quest for Aravis.”
Longshot interrupts and adds, “And Rog the gully dwarf pit fighter went with Lucius to help him.”
“As I was saying Longshot then told me that Gilidarius and Lord Rage have taken to the skies in a Flying Citadel that is flying around above Solamnia. Longshot says he was kicked out in Taman Busuk where he visited Godshome and found Dark Knight deserters who where praying to the One God. Longshot was captured by Dark Knights from another group and watched as the deserters were captured or killed, mostly the later. Longshot felt the presence of what he calls a divine power that is his words, kind of unnerved him”
The Conclave Master Reacts!
Part 5
By David
"Dark Knights! Damn them to the Abyss with their foul Mistress!" Analis fumes "Well, I guess that answers the question of whether this One God has followers."
She looks at the others "And that gives us as good an avenue for discovering the nature and will of this 'One' God as any. Perhaps I should pay a visit to Godshome. What do you think Karnea?"

Part 6

Karnea mulls this new information over for a moment, then nods her agreement. "Perhaps a trip to Godshome will be instructive. It certainly can't be worse than taking the word of a Kender."
A brief snort. "I would meet you there to feel this...presence myself, but I am investigating something that has the potential to be quite...useful."
"At any rate, I shall continue to ponder the question of who this deity might be, and from where It may have come.”
Ramifications
Part 7
By the DM
Lashia says, “Let me be clear here, the deserters are-well, were Knights of Neraka. Longshot says the Dar Knight command sent a large battle force to Godshome and questioned the deserters. What they had to say must have been something because after consultation with the Capital, the word back to the Knights was to slay the deserters. Yes these deserters were Dark Knights; that’s not saying much for this “One God”, but there are former Dark Knights in the Legion of Steel. I just want my words not to be confused.” The very fact that they were Dark Knights might be significant, or may not as significant as we think it is.”

"What you say certainly is true. Just because they were former Dark Knights doesn't necessarily mean that this One God has any prior connection to them." She sighs "On the other hand,

"As for the rest, Karnea, Lashia, Kalana...I will keep you informed, may the brothers walk with you . . .” on us all.
Once the meeting is over, Lashia and Longshot joins you in the hall.
“Longshot, you didn't see anyone who was something noticeably other than a Dark Knight, did you?"
“um. I can’t be sure. They took their armor and I never actually saw any swords, well, until I ran across this Skull Knight and she didn’t want to kill all of those innocent people and Lord Targonne had the people killed anyway. I think Lydia said Targonne was afraid and something like as well he should. She didn’t like him too much. Maybe some of them was villagers, I didn’t see any women there, of that I am sure, cause there are these really neat tunnels under the bowl in the middle you know and it was cool, oh yeah and I didn’t see any womenfolk. I just want to add that I think it’s so great that you are head of the Wizards now (even if you can’t cast magic) but I think it’s really cool and for you too Lashia. Oooooo One of my bestest friends in the whole multiverse is the Master of the Conclave now, can I explore? PLEASE!”
”So what are you planning?” this coming from Lashia.
Mission Statement
Part 11
By David
"Well, it is still impossible to scry into Godshome, so I'll be going in person of course. I will ride in by carpet, invisible. Magic items are still effective, and so if I am discovered right away they still won't suspect that I can cast any better than any other wizard. I have made specific jewelry items from the stones, so I will have the upper hand.
Otherwise, if I can avoid confrontation, I will learn whatever I may about the worshippers, those sent to kill them, and hopefully the name, location, and plans of this God...but I'll settle for whatever I can get."
Farewells
Part 12
By the DM
2/24/04
Lashia drags Longshot out of the Tower and turns and says, “Good luck my sister, if something goes wrong, I will come to your aide. May the Brothers be with you.” She turns and starts to walk away but Longshot stops and looks right up at you.
“Next time maybe you’ll let me explore the Tower? O yeah and I’m sorry I can’t go with you. I want to and all, and I’m kind of embarrassed to say this but Godshome was weird. If kinda felt like death was nearby and kind of shooed me away from there. It was really sad that all those people got killed, even if they were Dark Knights and the one I met wasn’t really bad. Okay maybe she was, but at least she tolerated me and didn’t cut off my ears like she said she was going to do. Any way, I love you Analis and hope you find what you’re looking for. If you ask me, which you haven’t, I would say about this God business, I don’t know how you plan on stopping it. We stopped Sylvania and something tells me that this is going to bigger then that and you had your powers then. Anyway, I love you.” And Longshot comes close and tries to give you a hug but you stop him and take back the moon rock that he “borrowed” and you wave goodbye.
You have so much to do, and then you have to talk to Master of the Tower and then . . . Morgan.
It has begun
Part 13
By David
Analis comes back up after seeing Lashia and Longshot off, and then goes and finds the Master of the Tower, who this time appears shockingly as the Mistress Ladonna; her own mother, Analis is unnerved.
" I wanted to speak to you to you before I leave ..."
Meeting
Part 14
By DM
Outside Merwellyn Wood
Wayreth Tower enters the transdimensional corridor and appears again somewhere southeast of Tarsis.
In the Master’s study-
“I am always here for you, you know that.” The Master says as he shifts to the face of mage from long ago.
In the foretower
A mage enters and his name is automatically recorded in the guest book, Leonard Draymen.
The First Step
Part 15
By David
"I am leaving the Tower soon, and I don't know if I will return." She pauses "I am traveling to Godshome. The kender Longshot Burrfoot found himself there, and discovered former Dark Knights praying to...Someone. Other Dark Knights arrived and slew them, but of course the kender was able to get away. This is the first news of organized worship since the Chaos War. The kender didn't know who the first group was praying to, nor on whose orders the second group attacked. Never the less, we must discover what truly happened at Godshome, and we don't know what we will find. It must be someone still powerful, but Karnea is...busy, and Lashia...Lashia has just given birth. Therefore, I must be the one to go. What advice would you give me?"
