Return to the Dragon Isles Based on Characters that were created by DCR, LB, and Steven D. Sullivan
Story Two Chapter One: Underway Near the Sancrist Crossing Talidaar’s Galleon the Navigator A Spelljammer equipped vessel Characters in this story Mikal Vardan Captain, Half-Elf, Husband to Las, Father of their daughter Kira Passengers Marilee Las’s twin Sister Sylvan Elf Female Damara Windrider General from Qualinesti Female Lashia Wizardess Windrider from Qualinesti Female Crew First Mate Trippleknott “Trip” Spellcracker At least four crewmen and a cook The Griffons Sovost and Sovereign are in the Forward Hold. Story The Navigator set out from Gwynned port and sailed out to sea. The crew gets the sails up and moves out of the shipping lane. Mik helps the crew get everything in order. The women passengers on the deck watch the activity of the sailors. Lashia and Damara watch as the half-elf hoisted the sails and felt themselves getting hot. They may have noticed Mikal was incredibly handsome, but the ways his muscles glisten in the sunlight. He was much more attractive than ever they gave him credit for. Marilee has seen this happen before, to herself and Las. The captain is more than attractive, he’s like a living, walking aphrodisiac. Lashia and Damra has been around for Hundreds of years and has seen a lot in that time, but they both come to agree He may be the hottest guy they have ever seen. They both exhale and look at each other, and laugh about it. Now they understood Las a little better. Lashia finally says, “I’m just glad Talidaar isn’t here or I’d never hear the end of it.” The others agree. Once they are sure the Sea is clear, Las tells Mik to make sure everything is secure, including the Kender. The Ship is prepared for flight, and Las climbs into the Spelljaming Helm chair and places the Helmet upon her head. She cast the Spelljaming spell and She has the ship rise into the air. Trip is jumping for joy, and looking over the rail, and the Sea below falls away. The Navigator rises into the Clouds and begins forward movement, starts them heading North. They sail over Solamnia, past Palanthas, and are well on their way, Mik directs Lashia where to travel next on the new heading of east. “We have to follow the exact course or they will not appear at all. He shows her the map he pieced together from different sources. This and the key should get us in.” “Should?” asks Lashia. “We have the key, we are minor heroes there, I’m sure everything will be fine,” Mikal says causally. “I just don’t like your modal neutralization usage. It's disconcerting.” “Im only allowing for the possibility that things might go sideways. Nothing ever goes according to plan. Ever. But then I’m flying right now in the air on a ship, I’m new at this, maybe you people just do things differently.” “I see your point, no, things have not always been easy, but try to have some optimism. I have another couple of hours in me before I am going to have to rest. Alert me when you have the next course correction, I can’t fly and talk at the same time. “Got it, sorry, come to this heading, he indicates it on the map for her. “ Mikal goes above to check on everything on deck. He sees Trip and Damara on the poop deck and goes up to join them. “Know where we are Captain?” Damra asks We have passed Kalaman and traveling to Nordmaar. Making excellent time I might add. Gods, this is fantastic. I never dreamed such a thing possible” “I’ve never been so happy” Trip says, while still looking over the rail. “Except that one time when I saw the Gold dragon, that was the best, but this is great, can you imagine the possibilities we go and do? Thank you Mik, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this. Nobody is going to believe me.” Mik looks out to the east, “big storm, over there.” He points. Did anybody pray before we left?

Return to the Dragon Isles
Story Two Chapter Two: Distant Storm Coming to the Cape of Nordmaar, Captain Mikal Vardan informs Lashia about the Storm and they are due to Turn North Lashia begins changing direction The cook reports to Mik that he prayed before they left port. Mikal thanks the cook and takes another look at the Storm. It does not appear it is going to be a problem. He can’t shake the feeling they are being followed somehow. But he never sees anything. He asks Lashia to enact the charm of invisibility for a while, He just has a bad feeling. She informs him that She will have to be set down once they reach the sea. She will have to rest and memorize some spells. He says he understands. “Mikal asks Damara “How much seafaring experience do you have?” “Not much. I traveled with my people to Southern Ergoth during the War of the Lance and took a ship to the White Stone Glade on Sancrist. Tooks a ship to Solamnia. Trying to think where and when else, but coming up blank. I rode, never was much in a position to actually man the ship as a Mariner.” He hands her a charm. “I was supposed to hand these out before now. They are a charm of Water breathing. Las made these. Just in case. Keep it with you.” Distant lightning catches his attention and he looks again for the storm. It getting bigger and off to the east. Mikal asks "If they should get the griffon in or out in case we run into rough weather?" Damara thinks about it.” Let’s keep them in for now.” Mikal calls the crew to stations as the Navigator begins lowering as they pass over the sea. Lashia turns off the Invisibility charm for everyone’s benefit topside. The Navigator gently enters the Sea. The Sails are released. Before they do anything else. Mikal leads them all in prayer to Zeboim and asks her blessing for a safe passage. Once that has concluded, they unfurl the sails and begin their journey onward.

Return to the Dragon Isles
Story Two Chapter Three: Attention
North of Ansalon The Tubidues Ocean The Navigator is on its way North. The Storm is off the Starboard side (right) but far off. Not sure it’s going to be a problem yet. Meanwhile Lashia and Damara are getting some rack time for a while so she can rest from piloting since they only have one pilot. The crew is alternating sleep shifts. After a few hours, Mikal wakes Lashia and Damara and tells them they need to climb up fast. Sea elves are climbing on board. Lashia and Damara run with Mikal out of the Cabin and have to defend themselves immediately. Damara kicks the Sea-Elf down the stairs. Trip calls out to Mikal and he rushes to save his First Mate. Lashia pulls her wand of Force and starts blasting elves off their feet and some over the side, she then points at the sails and casts force again and they begin accelerating a bit. I’m going to have to rememorize the Spell. Mikal fighting another Sea-Elf off says “Well, keep doing that with your wand! “ Lashia does it a few more times in succession and the Navigator begins moving. Lashia says “Enough, I have got to that spell memorized.” She gets back to the Cabin and Damara guards her back. Immediate danger seems to be over, but they are still out there and might come back. She bears her elven long sword and watches all around for possible attack. The Ship is rammed by something. Lashia runs out of the cabin and climbs down to the helm and slides into the seat. She reports a depressing fact. There’s water coming in somewhere down here. She places the Helm on her head and casts the spell. They are rammed again. The Navigator rises out of the Water, and Lashia yells “Hold on, I’m taking off!” they begin moving at a higher rate of speed. Mikal calls for the sails to be taken down. Everyone is holding on as the Navigator moves faster upwards- A great mass of a Sea Dragon jumps out of the water and just misses them and falls back into the water.

Return to the Dragon Isles Story Two Chapter Four: On the Cusp
North of Ansalon The Tubidues Ocean Marilee is on the deck at the railing, feeling wistful, she misses her Griffon companion as she watches Damara soar through the sky. Damara and Sovereign fly through the clouds and reappear and fly past the Navigator on the starboard side. They come in for a gentle landing and Sovereign returns to the forward hold. The Storm has turned away from them. The Navigator begins to move forward towards the Dragon Isles. Lahia had given Mik an earful once they all caught their breath. The Sea Dragon had made its presence known in a big way. If they had been any slower, they would have been destroyed. Lashia does not berate him. Mik apologizes and tells them he won’t make that mistake again. Mikal and the crew assessed the damages and went about repairing the ship. They have tested the ship and the repairs seem to have worked. Damara reports that she found the Teeth of Chaos. Mikal tells Lashia they stay to the east of the Teeth. After a time and through some trial and error, they land at sea and move forward through the mist, and the first sign that they are approaching land is when a pelican lands on the bow railing. The Navigator moves on the sea, they have made incredible time, Hundreds of miles in a few hours. Then Mik sees it. “There!” he yells. “Ahoy.” He points out to Lashia and Damara the shimmering shield protecting the Dragon Isles. Mikal prepares to ring the bell to the ascribed arrival protocol tones. They approach the Magic Shield.

Return to the Dragon Isles Story Two Chapter Five: The Veil North of Ansalon The Tropical zone Tubidues Ocean Mid Morning n their Third Day of Travel The sea is a beautiful aquamarine that Damara has never seen before. Lashia and Damara both are in wonder as the Navigator passes through the shimmering magical shield that protects the Dragon Isles. They have placed the Crystal Key on the Navigator to help it pass through the The Veil. Mikal and Marilee warn Damara and Lashia of the security. They are demanding, and dragons, so beware. Mikal tells Trip to be on his best behavior until they reach Perch. They see a pair of Dragons soaring past and climb into white puffy clouds It is only a short time before two long ships shimmer from the brass shields affixed to the vessel. Marilee warns everybody to be cool, it’s the Order of Brass. They police the Isles and stop any new arrivals. One ship cuts them off And the other comes alongside. Two very large armored individuals come aboard. Each is easily Eight feet tall. They don’t recognize Mikal at first, or Marilee. These were two guards at the citadel when they last came through. Mikal explains who they are. It is a fanciful story, but they have a key and seem sincere. They ask if they have anything to declare. Mikal is quick to say they are on their way to Perch to drop off their Kender friend. Trip waves to the Two imposing Knights. The Dragon Fear is affecting Lashia and Damara’s Griffons and the elves themselves. They ask why they come to the Dragon Isles and Damara says “She is a General of the Elven Nation. She is here on behalf of the Speaker to come to the aid of the Elven nation. The Dark Knights have a large number, over Fifty Chromatic Dragons, mostly Blues to wipe us out.” The Dragon Knights look at each other and allow them to pass. One ship follows them to Perch on the Island of Alarl. The Other ships with Knights they dealt with are on the other vessel. It is obviously magic as it is moving away at a fair clip. Lashia Decides she does not have time for this and climbs into the chair and gets the Navigator to Perch. Mikal assures him they will come back for him on their way back. The Navigator then lifts off, not getting too high, but Marilee and Mikal direct Lashia to The Misty Isle The Dragon Isles Alarl Berann Heart Jaentarth Mind Misty Isle Tayol Winged Majesty

Return to the Dragon Isles Story Two Chapter Six: Silvers in the City of Gold North of Ansalon The Tropical zone North Courrain Ocean Archipelago The Navigator soars through the sky on its way to the City of Gold. Mikal directs Lashia West around the big island, he tells her to start taking them down. She is about to do that but she yells “Yikes” Two Silver Dragons flying at them (From inside the helm, the wearer sees through the ship, 360° in all directions, up and underneath.) Those on the deck freak out momentarily as the two dragons separate fly around the ship, just missing the mast. Mikal asks Lashia to take it down nice and easy and let’s get out of traffic. Lashia agrees with that suggestion. Lashia directs the Navigator slowly into the water as the Silvers come back to investigate the ship. Not not every day they see a flying ship, though, some of them have seen them before, not many, but some. Seeing that the Ship is heading towards Aurialastican, they fly back to the megacity. The Passengers and Crew of the Navigator don’t know if they should take that as a good or ill omen. The Crew gets the sails up and gets to work sailing Northwest toward the City of Gold. About an hour later they can see the metropolis gleaming gold in the sun. They head north into port. Coming in they see the large port, but not very many ships. They dock and they let the griffons out to starch their wings and hopefully not get eaten by a Dragon. Mikal and the others stay with the ship while Marilee, Damara, and Lashia head down the long dock to the city that looms over them. Aurialastican, The City of Gold. The Sisters look at each other, never in their dreams have they ever thought they would ever make it here. They start to enter the city when they are stopped by two young female elves. They are wearing gorgeous silver gowns, barefoot, long silver hair, stunningly beautiful, pure." Marilee says quietly “I wonder if these are who almost collided with us” back to the sisters. The first one says “Hello, we saw your ship, I mean we - “ “We saw it at the last moment.” Coming from the other one. “Yeah about, I’m sorry, I was impatient and didn’t think about a possible collision, I should have known better,” Lashia admits. “But it was very cool.” Says the first one. “Yes, we have to ask you about your flying ship.” From the other. “She’s Ciri,” says the first one. “And she is Rori,” says the second one. DM-(So, we are clear, number one is Rori and the second one is Ciri) Marilee asks, “Let me guess, Sisters or Best Friends?” “There's a difference?” Asks Ciri. “Good point.” Marilee concedes Lashia provides the answer the girls are looking for. “It’s a normal ship fitted with a magical device called a Spelljammer.” “Oooooh.” Says Rori, “We’ve heard of those, but we’ve never seen one before.” Damara says “We would show you now, but we need to talk to somebody important, somebody that can rally dragons together for a good cause.” “What is the cause” asks Ciri. “Saving the elves. Sixty Dragons were preparing to attack the elven Homeland in the Inath-Wakenti on Ansalon.” The Silver Elves look at each other, Then Rori asks “If they know what those words mean?” Lashia says “Yes, the Valley of the Gods."

Return to the Dragon Isles Story Two Chapter Seven: The Council of Wyrms North of Ansalon The Tropical zone North Courrain Ocean Dragon Isles The Misty Isle Aurialastican The City of Gold The grandest of the Dragon Isles and center of Draconic culture on Krynn. The Haven of all Metallic Dragons. Home of the only true “City” metropolis that compares with the great cities of Ansalon, such as Palanthas, Dalitigoth, or Sanction Vale. The Silvers take Marilee, and the sisters Damara and Lashia through the Human Quarter. There are five quarters in this metropolis, The quarters are racially mixed, but the quarters are named after the majority race that lives there. The Minotaur Quarter, The Human Quarter, the Dwarven Quarter, the Elven Quarter, and the Dragon Quarter. There are areas that are chiefly only for a particular Race or Clan. Kendertown enjoys this status, the rest are Dragon Clans. The Silver, Brass, Bronze, and Copper Areas. A great plateau rises from behind the Dragon Quarter called the Dragonheights. Here the Golds and their human and elven assistants tend to matters great and small. From this plateau, great huge building or monument of different shapes dominates the surrounding landscape. The Golden Pyramid is the grandest of these monuments. They vary in material, some being Stone, metal, or coral. Others depict something real such as a rampant dragon, trees, mountains, or ships, Others are more abstract, such as shapes, rings, and columns. They are all incredibly huge in scale. They are stopped once they reach the Dragonheights. This area is very much off-limits to nearly everyone who is not a Gold. The story of why they have come is told once again. The Guards look at each other and bring them to the Great Hall of the Council where the elves wait for what seems like hours. Damra begins pacing. Marilee tells them “This is what happened to them the last time they were here.” Attendants of the Council come for them, and soon they are in a great chamber. The Dragonfear hits them as they begin to enter the chamber. An overwhelming sense of awe and majesty immediately washes over the Elves. These Dragons are mostly very old and very powerful. The Elves feel like ants to these mighty Golds. The Island is ruled by the Oligarchs, the August Council of Wyrms. Five Gold Dragons. Regia and Aurumnus, daughter and son of Auricus are senior members of the Council. Regia Daughter of Auricus, sister of Arumnus, Fourth Generation Gold Dragon Aurumnus, son of Auricus is a Fourth Generation Gold Dragon. Brother of Regia is known to be the wisest and most analytical, able to solve very difficult problems and issues. Giltarald, a powerful Gold Dragon and the former mount of Gunter Uth Winston. Amanthus Gold Dragon Impartial, a friend of Othlorx* Dragons of Taladas. Iliana Gold Dragon, the youngest among the council. They are lounging, surrounded by books and treasures that are near and dear to them, or they serve some magical function. There are two females and three males. Damara begins to relate the tale for a third time since they have gotten to the Island. “My name is Damara Ambrodel, a Windrider for the Elven Nation. Sixty Chromatic Dragons were seen over the Burning Sands of Khur. An army of Thousands of Dark Knights are preparing to make war on the Elves of Inath-Wakenti. Speaker of the Sun and Stars Githas Kanan requests the aid of the Good Dragons to help protect the people of the last Elven Nation on Ansalon. Our need is desperate, I may already be too late, for my journey has taken many days.” The Gold Dragons look to one another. Two of them wear spectacles, they regard the matter thoughtfully and tell the Elves to wait in the lobby and await their decision. Just then, a man runs into the chamber. “Suhnrysanti, what is wrong?” asks one. "Nothing my lord, I bring word of the arrival of-” “They know who I am Suhnrysanti, it's alright.” A tall elf strides to the center of the chamber. He is dressed in a Blue Robe and carrying a walking stick. Another older man standing just outside the room, seems to have came with the tall elf. “Lord Palidine!” The Council exclaims, and all lower their heads. “Now, I’ve told you I don’t go by that name anymore, but I forgive your lapse.” The tall elf turns around and tells the elves still present that they left without him. “I was this close to joining the voyage, but I just missed you at New Ports. I had to call in a favor." He points to indicate he was talking about his old friend Pyrite. The Elves are in disbelief. This is truly Lord Palidine or rather, his mortal form. Valthonis, the Walking God. They fall to their knees. He tells them "Now, stand up, You are embarrassing me. Happens everywhere I go." He begins helping them up in turn. “Now, where was I before all the fawning went to people's heads? Oh yes, what is there to think about? He asks the council. Now I know you are all wary after all the bad that has happened to our kind. I don’t know much anymore, but I know irons are in the fire. Follow me? Things are happening out there in the world and you are staying separate from it. Are you othlorx* are you still a part of this world? Valthonis knows what they are all scared of. Not coming back. Not carrying on the line. One of Lord Paladines’s last commandments to the Metallics was the proclamation to procreate and hide the Eggs in the vault beneath the Pyramid. His mate the Goddess Mishakal has placed blessings on all of the Good Dragons in the wake of the War of Souls. She has promised to protect the vault for the propagation of the Metallic Dragon races. Many of the Metallics pulled back to the Isles in the wake of the War of Souls and the Fall of their God. They have carried out his orders and there has been a miracle for the females of the Metallics, nearly all have laid hatches. the number of Dragons that were left is what scared the Metallic the most and now. He says “If you all did what I told you to do all these last years, then your future is ensured. Come on, what do you say? * The name othlorx translates directly as "The Uninvolved".

The Return to the Dragon Isles Story Two Chapter Seven: Unexpected Reunions North of Ansalon The Tropical zone North Courrain Ocean Dragon Isles The Misty Isle Aurialastican The City of Gold The Dragons are given a choice, seventy-eight decide to aid the elves, and The Rest stay to defend Dragon Isles and the clutches of eggs. There are no hard feelings. Somebody has to stay and defend the place. The Valthonis joins elves as they wind their way through the streets. At a corner cafe and find Longshot A Kender that they all know and have known for over fifty years by all rights should have retired long ago. He still looks the same as he did. That unsettles the Elves. When they ask. He swore he would never tell anyone. He’s fine, he’s great. He hears about the Dragons flying to help the Elves. He asks if he can come back with them. Marilee answers of course you can. and then Marilee sees the man that she knows well. tall, dark, and handsome. He and her had a thing she thought was going well, and then he was gone without a word. Shimmer walks up the steps to her and she slaps him. “I deserve that.” The man says. She slaps him again. “Have you had enough?” “Tell me you are sorry for leaving without saying goodbye.” He exhales looks around and says “I am sorry for leaving without saying goodbye.” “Are you going to Khur?” Marilee asks. “No, I am a Member of the Order of Brass, our place is to Defend the Dragon Isles.” The Dragon Says. “I’m headed in the other direction. I’m headed to Khur. “Marilee says and adds, “I hope I can find a Dragon that will want to stay around. Or stay with me.” Marilee says the first part vindictively, but the last part in a small voice. Shimmer grits his teeth and says “Alright, let's do it. I’ll go. We will try this again.” Marilee gets on her tippy toes and hugs this man. Valthonis watches the whole exchange. "Young love, can't live with them, can't live without them." The rest of the elves did not mean to pry but it kind of unfolded right in front of them. Lashia and Damara decide to order a drink with with their Kender friend Longshot and give the hugging couple some time to reconnect. The Dragons are gathering together. Some are late deciders, others find a better reason to stay.

Return to the Dragon Isles Story Two Chapter Eight: Longshot North of Ansalon The Tropical zone North Courrain Ocean Dragon Isles The Misty Isle Aurialastican The City of Gold Dragons are still gathering on the Island. Lashia, her sister Damara, the kender Longshot, and Valthonis are sitting, having a drink, listening to where Longshot has been the last many years. Longshot explains he was exiled from Hylo by Belladonna Juniper for trying to foment a rebellion. Damara laughs. “You, you tried to do what?” “She was mean and passing all these laws, she took the fun out of Kender.” “Now, to be fair, she has been overzealous in her rule. “ Valthonis says. “Thank you, I wasn’t trying to set out to be violent; I just didn’t like where I saw things going. So, I rallied support against her. Well, things sort of got out of control. So, I left. Went sort of all over. Lived in old Kendermore for a while. Is not the same. It was too sad to stay. So, I kept getting on boats until I got here. it's been so wonderful. The most wonderful place ever. You never know when you might be speaking to a dragon.” The sisters quietly agreed not to tell Longshot who Valthonis was. They eventually meet up with Marilee and they walk down to the ship. Mikal waves at them. The Elves catch Mikal up on what is going on. He congratulates Damara and Lashia for getting them to listen. The elves just say that they had help in the end. Lashia asks Marilee if she is okay. Marilee just smiles and says she’s okay. Marilee thinks she should have known how powerful it would be to see him again. She sort of was not prepared to see him, though she knew the chance was inevitable. It was powerful while they were together and then he was gone. She hid it from everyone but her sister about how much it hurt. After a while, she moved on. But seeing him ripped it all away. She was going to play cooler than she did. Oh well. How often is one going to make it back to the Dragon Isles? She says that and wonders if that is the compromise she is headed to.

Return to the Dragon Isles Story Two Chapter Nine: Movement North of Ansalon The Tropical zone North Courrain Ocean Dragon Isles The Misty Isle Aurialastican The elves and Longshot visit the location where the Dragons are gathering, inland a bit from the city, through a jungle environment to an open vale. The sun shines down onto the various scales of Golds, Silver, Bronze, Brass, and Copper. Roughly Eighty have agreed to come. They range in age, most are adults or above. There are fewer numbers of Golds than the other metallics. Fewer numbers of Silver Dragons. Brass and Bronze and Copper are contributing in larger numbers Two Golds are polymorphed with golden hair come to the Elves. It is Quallathon* and Suhnrysanti (Sunrise). The First one tells the Elves that “some of the dragons have their mount’s saddles. There will be more at Sancrist. We have a few very sacred mounted Dragonlances. But only enough for five. We have six more footman Dragonlances. As you can see, that will not be enough, are there more being made?” Valthonis looks at the other Three Elves, Marilee, Lashia, and Damara. Damra yells “Dammit! Why the Abyss didn’t I think of that?” Several Dragons look over at the elves. Valthonis “Now it is not really all that bad. See, A couple months back, I talked to an old friend as we were playing dice as sometimes, we do when we get together. I old him that I had heard evil was afoot, I passed along to him and mentioned we might need to get the fire going if you know I mean.” “You have people already working on Dragonlances?” Damara asks. “Well, I hope they are that far along. But we are going to have to go there in your Flying ship and see if they have made any progress.” Damara kisses Valthonis on the cheek, turning him red, and shouts for joy. Valthonis says to the Golds “Send a strong show force to the Elves. Sancrist will have stored equipment, as far as saddles, and some Lances. Many dragons will have to fly to Foghaven and get equipped There will be some in Solamnia, trying to think where they might have them stored… The High Clerist maybe? And you say to that new emperor of Solamnia if he gives you any trouble, tell him You will be there for him if he is there for you. He’s a smart lad, he’ll figure out what you are saying. If any Knights want to come and help the elves, it would be a good gesture on their part. Remind them they are still Knights and Protectors of Good. Valthonis tell people “Everyone should be aware. The Hammer of Honor is under the mountain, its closed up, Reorx just can’t get in. So, he is devising a way to get in, but that does not help us, so these will be lesser lances, but should still do the job.” Damara tells Lashia that she needs to go to Foghaven to pick up Lances to bring to Inath Wakenti. “Fine, but I’m stopping to see my kids first. I'll just have to meet people there. "Lashia says. Damara says she going to try to find a ride to take her to Inath Wakenti. The sisters embrace and then go their separate ways. The polymorphed Gold Dragon Quallathon* tells Damara He will be her mount to the Elven Valley. Damra says “Thank you. That is kind of you.” Longshot the kender is torn. He wants to see the Dragons all lift off and fly into the sky. He wants to ride a dragon and see where the Elves live now with Damara. He also wants to go on the Spelljammer and fly to see Lashia’s kids and the Monument of the Silver Dragon and make Dragonlance. He starts to shake but being on the ship while Dragons flying with the ship wins. He runs to catch up with the tall elf, Lashia Marilee, and Shimmer as they head to the port. *Quallathon Gold Dragon, once the mount of Lauralanthalasa Kanan during the War of Lance

Return to the Dragon Isles Story Two Chapter Ten: The Return part one The Dragon Isles The Navigator makes port in Perch on the Isle of Alarl to pick up Trip, which turns into a bit of a fiasco. But Mikal finds him and so the Navigator is leaving the Veil and soon after that, the Navigator lifts off from the Sea and climbs into the sky. They soon catch up with the Metallic Dragons heading south. Some will be stopping in Palanthas to meet with the Knights of Solamnia there, while others are headed to Sancrist, and a bulk of them are headed to Southern Ergoth to Foghaven. Damara is leading a group to Inath-Wakenti directly. I want to feel guilty as heck because I just want to stop and see my kids. I know there is a need to get to Inath-Wakenti. I just need to see them before I go away again. If it is as bad as Damara has intimated things could get, I just need to see them one more time. She is pushing the speed limit, not too much, just enough. And when she has pushed herself as far as she can go, then she takes the Navigator down onto the sea, and they set sail for Northern Ergoth while Lashia sleeps. This happens a couple more times after landing in the sea to give Lashia rest from the mental taxation it takes to pilot the ship magically. Marilee and Shimmer have been in conversation for much of the trip, talking as privately as they can with Longshot on board. They don’t rehash things; they talk about what the future might hold. Within a few hours, Sails come down, and the Navigator rises from the sea and speeds on across and above the sea. Valthonis himself has not been a spelljammer before, but he seems to remember some clouded memories about an aspect riding on one before. He can’t quite grasp the exact moment and so he stops trying. It must not have been important. So much he has forgotten. He still recalls some big things and some small things. He does not much worry about the consequences to himself for interfering, He does not think Reorx has overstepped too many boundaries in the part that I asked him to play. I felt it was wrong what became of Zivilyn, but, Gilean must have seen it in the Tobril. I was worried about making the trip to the Dragon Isles. I worried they had moved past my guiding hand and could have outright refused. I am just wondering what the response is going to be from the other side. I guess is that he has his hands full, and none of that is my fault…yet. Soon, Lashia enacted the Invisibility charm as the Navigator crossed over Hylo, Northern Ergoth. They cross over the Sentinel Mountains and into Ergoth proper. It is just afternoon, there are Dragons over the plains of Ergoth for the first time in ages.
