Chapter One: Windrider
Northern Khur
East of the Skyfire Mountains,
Inath Wakenti, the Elven Refuge
General Damara Ambrodel is soaring high through the sky, aback her loyal griffon mount, Sovereign, over the mountains in northern Khur. On patrol in a wide circle around the valley of Inath Wakenti.
She volunteered for the patrol to get up in the sky. She has had less time to fly since her promotion. She served during the years leading up to the War of the Lance, to that war’s completion. Her time served, she left the military and opened a tavern in New Ports. Seems like an age ago, I guess it was. The Overlords changed her mind. But the political climate turned her stomach.
Damara had never been a fan of Porthios. Her family came from a long line stretching back to the Kinslayer Wars in the second age. They were a family of loyalty, duty, and service.
Her family stood by every speaker in an unbroken line going back to Kith Kanan. So, When Reyl Konnel got the Sun medallion away from Porthios and gave it to Senetor Rashas to give to Gilthas, the son of Laurana and Tanis, her family was in a bind, and soon exiled after her father, the loyal elder statesman was, protested the sanity of the coup plotters and tried to appeal to the people. His father and mother travel a little -Northern Ergoth, Solamnia before ending up living with The Druid Talidaar for a time, as Lashia was married to Talidaar by now, and family. As for
Eventually, her mother and father would move into New Ports and take over her Inn, the Roaring Griffon. The launching point of many an adventure.
Damara, sought out Porthios and Alhana, in the Khur badlands.
Eventually, Damara found the exiles. And so, she kept them on the move. Never sleep in the same place. It was a miserable time. She barely gained much insight into Porithios, only that he was a massive tool. Staying with the Druid was a mistake, that almost ended in a fight. Thank the gods for Alhana, if he didn’t have her, he wouldn’t have anybody.
She has seen an increase in Blue Dragon activity. At one point she is followed. Damara is an old pro. They escape, but it gets tense for a while.
Still, this is more aggressive than normal. Somethings up.
Flying with even more awareness. They duck into a forest and wait out the Dragon Maneuvers. Later they make their way to Inath Wakenti. She speaks with the Generals and Speaker Gilthas right away.
