The Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter One: Solace The month of Dry Anvil (May) 429 AC Abanasinia Why Today? The Dwarf asks to the open air above. His right leg is stiffening up again. He tries to awkwardly stand up and take some steps. Happens every so often. There, coming back to, back to – “Come on!” he takes a few more steps and he is back to normal. “Thank Reorx.” The dwarf says. Too many nights on the ground. Torin Stonebeard has not been a priest very long, he wasn’t a priest before the Moons and the gods disappeared. He was a merchant until he lost his business during the War with the Half-Giant. Almost lost his life. No, this is a new thing. The Hammer nearby showed up during the month of Damp Mood (March) at his house in Kayolin. Seems he wasn’t the only one. There was quite a few new Priests of Reorx that was ordained in Kayolin recently. There has been joyous rapture for the Return of the Maker. Torin is 4’6” brown with grey in his beard, and brown with greying hair. Dressed in a simple brown robe with a work belt to carry some tools and his Hammer. We, the Chosen few were sent on a different quests, mine leads me to Southern Abanasinia. Where I’m headed now. Torin packs up his belongings and his bedroll and once that is all squared away, he stamps out the fire and starts walking. His next stop on his way is thankfully more civilization then he’s seen since North Keep. After many hours, Torin enters the outskirts of the Town of Solace. It’s a bit bigger than a Town now, it’s a minor city. The influx of refugees from all around Ansalon has ended up in Solace, making up the majority of the ground dwellers. He checks in on Forge Alley. Soon he is acquainted with a dwarven Blacksmith who has taken up work on the grounds of the Vallenwood ciy. The Blacksmith is happy to help, provided Torin blesses his forge, and the flames rise up a bit higher then they were before. The Blacksmith tells Torin where he can find lodging for the night and the Village he is looking for is Digfel. Located a couple of days' journey south from Solace, first town after Gateway on the road to New Ports. Torin thanks the Blacksmith and travels to the Giant tree and climbs its steps around and around and around, up the Tree to the Inn of the Last Home. Torin takes a breather halfway up, and again at the top. Grumbling to the front door, he can see that they are busy. A pretty face appears past the customers waiting in line and asks him if he wants a seat at the bar. Appreciative of small miracles, he snakes his way past the customers and climbs up on a chair at the bar. A young woman comes by and brings him a cup of water, then asks what would he like to drink. Torin thinks about it for a moment, then says “I’ll surprise you, Dwarf Spirits please.”

Chosen of Reorx Book One Chapter Two: The Inn of the Last Home
She didn’t find it amusing.
He has had a good meal, along with the famous fried potatoes, sausages, and cornbread. He has gotten a room for the night at a reasonable price. The inn is of course, famous. He looks around. Cozy. The Heroes of the Lance. He thinks about what he has to do. He has to find this man in Digfel and somehow get to Southern Ergoth. I’m told that Reorx will provide the means, but I’m not sure I built for faith like that. If we’re being honest. But I am not supposed to question him so I’ll do as I’m told and see if that works for once.
The Help staff here are efficient. The Woman who waved him in was nice, but his waitress didn’t think he was funny. Torin takes a walk, and finds out there is an elevator, crude, but on principle, it works, but he isn’t sure that’s for him. He starts to down. Stops and goes back watches it in motion again. He decides he will try this out. It teeters, but not too badly. Not enough for him to get sick.
Torin thankfully makes it to the ground in one piece. And he thanks Reorx again, stepping out of the box and onto solid ground. Torin sets out to see the Tomb of the Last Heroes. He watches the Knights of Solamnia Guard as they patrol back and forth around its perimeter. A solemn affair to witness with one’s own eyes. He decides to move on once he sees the Kender and their picnics across the way. Reorx changed his mind on a lot of things but has yet to convince him of the need for Kender.
He finds the shine to Reorx. Torin preys on the Maker for success in his mission. He picks up a lantern and a walking stick, just his size. It feels oddly fated for him. He gets a new rain tarp as his old one was ruined a couple of days ago.
He looks for people with wagons and inquires “Which way they are going, North or South?”
He finally finds one driver who is setting out for Digfel in the morning, “bright and early.”
Torin thinks bright, maybe not, but he can do early. “Alright, I’m staying in the Inn of the Last Home, don’t leave without me, I’ll pay you and make it worth your while. I’ll try to have someone wake me up, but don’t leave me.” He rattles his money bag. He agrees to send someone for him and to not leave without him.
Torin also found a map shop and seeing that there was not a kender in sight or the proprietor of the shop, he came in and browsed. After a while, he finds a map of the area he needs. He purchases the map and a scroll case carries his goods to the Elevator and takes the ride up. He puts his items in his room and then returns to the Bar and asks the older woman if it would be possible to have someone wake him up at the crack of dawn. Laura tells him the roosters will probably wake up him about that time. Torin isn’t sure about that. I will pay someone to bang on my door first thing in the morning. She smiles and says he will do that for him- Free. He thanks her and then asks if a breakfast meal be made to eat on my travel south in the morning. She tells him she will have something made and packed away from him. Torin has a last brew before bed. In no time, he finishes the drink and pays up for everything, less to work about tomorrow. He gives her a good tip and sets out for bed.
The Next morning, Someone is banging on his door with a kitchen pan, and he’s awake. Now he can hear the roosters.
Fifteen minutes later Torin is eating bacon, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, and a couple of pieces of cornbread for the road, what a sweetheart. Is he ever so thankful to not be walking? Glorious!! Thank you Reorx.
The horse-drawn wagon travels south.

Chosen of Reorx Book One Chapter Three: Gateway South of Solace Kharolis Mountains The Gateway Pass (Between the Sentinel Peaks and the Solace Peaks The month of Dry Anvil (May) 429 AC Night, nice breeze after a very hot day. Stopped at Camp at the halfway point between Solace and Gateway along the Solace Stream. Conversation was sparse on the way down, but not unfriendly. Should take a few more days to reach my destination. One bit of a conversation did perk up his ears. The Baron lord that ransacked this area was put out of business last fall, along with his horde of cutthroats. They terrorized Digfel for a couple of weeks late last year. It's said it was the work of a Druid that lives in the local Forest. Ended up killing several of the brigands, and started growing plants in their lungs plants were coming out of their mouths. Some became trees, and others were ripped apart. Baron was given to the populace of Digfel to pass judgment. They took his head with an axe. They eat a stew and then turn it in. Torin gives his thanks to Reorx for another day of blessings and then he turns over and thinks about the story he heard. Probably a follower of Chisley, sounds gruesome, but fair. eventually drifts off to sleep. They make it to Gateway in three days. Torin enters the Brewhouse and inquires where he can fill up his water satchel The Bartender, A large rotund man directs Torin to the communal well in the park. Torin fills up his water satchel and takes a drink. Not terrible. He refills the bag and then goes to the local inn to join the driver for lunch. Torin picks up some food items for the trip, it will be at least two more nights to Digfel. They set out across the bridge to ford the White-Rage River and into Southern Abanasinia.

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Four: The Chosen Southwest Ansalon Southern Abanasinia Hamlet of Digfel The Que-Nal do not trouble the wagon on the road south. A rainstorm came through last night. After many days on the road. His journey has reached a plateau. The Real adventure is what comes next. They come into Digfel just after noon, pulling into the General Store. Torin pays up with the wagon driver. With a lighter pouch, Torin walks into town in search of his man. Lots of exiles here, meaning Mountain Clan Dwarves, notably Hylar. There are Neidar Hill Dwarves as well. Torin heavies a heavy sigh. He was a different man back then, now he’s a man for all Dwarves. He checks in the One Eye Goblin beer hall to see the state of the population. Not very many people here. That’s good. Torin walks past the little shops, leathers, equipment shop, will have to go in there before we leave. A store that purports to sell items of value from the Xak Tsorth. He looks at a few items, well I’ll be, this looks legit. This helmet would be priceless in Ergoth. Too pricey for me right now. Going to have to talk to this owner when we return. He walks down the main road and passes many different dwarfs, with different colored beards and hair, beard length, the rotund, the shorter, and the taller. Pretty dwarf frawls* walking past, kids. A Dog barking at a cat. He first hears the Blacksmiths at work, hammering away in rhythmic succession. He can smell the metalwork and the roar of the forges. He keeps walking, he hears a different rhythm going from the rest. He sees why, this one is hammering with his off-hand, a young apprentice provides extra hands to help so he can still work because his right arm is gone. He has long black hair with grey on his head and only has a short black beard. “Hello, my name is Torin Stonebeard, I am a priest of Reorx and I have been sent to find you by our Lord God Reorx the Maker, I was wondering if you and I might be able to talk when you have time.” The Blacksmith keeps hammering for a couple of minutes and says I get off work here at the last Horn for the change of shift in the mines. I knock off a little early to get a seat at the Bar. I’ll meet you there.” Torin tries to gauge if he really will meet him in the bar. He weighs if the man will come or not. Torin says, “Good, good, I will see you there.” Torin decides he is going to walk back and check these shops out and wait for him to leave and see if he really does go to the bar. So, Torin carries out his business in the equipment shop. He asks when the shift change is. He learns in a couple of hours. Torin goes to the One-eyed Goblin brew house. He goes to the bar and orders a drink and looks around at the different dwarves in the establishment. Maybe somebody in here is a person I need. He observes without prying. No, He has not found his people yet. He leaves the bar and goes around the backside of the town and comes up and watches the Blacksmith finish working, wipes his hand in a dirty rag, and looks around. The Blacksmith sends his apprentice away to his folks collects up his tools and closes up shop. He leaves his building and locks up and still looks around. He starts walking towards what Torin assumes in the direction of his house. He watches the man stop and start walking again, and again stop. He walks to his house and a loud horn announces a shift change in the mines. Many dwarves begin piling out of the shaft and head straight to the bar. Torin walks down and sees the Blacksmith washing his hand in a bucket in the back of his house. When the priest walks up, the blacksmith says 'I knew that the Priest would come to him at his house. I don’t drink every day like I did, just on occasion.” “Does that mean today is an occasion?” Tyros asks. “Bloody hell it does.” He walks back into his house and takes a sip out of his flask, then he tosses it to the priest. Torin almost drops the flask and somehow, he doesn’t. He takes a sip. Firewhiskey, with something else, what is that?” Torin asks. “Apples.” The Blacksmith says. “Apples… You have a name?” Torin asks. “Bale Ironforge. Now lay it to me straight, Are you really here because the Maker sent you?” “I’m afraid so. You have been chosen by Reorx to start the Forges up in the Monument of the Silver Dragon.” Torin tells him. “Me, why me?” Bale asks. Torin hesitates, then says “Because you are uniquely qualified my friend.” “I only have one arm in case you and the Maker haven’t noticed!” Bale is getting redder. “We noticed, that is just one of the reasons you are qualified,” Torin answers. “What?” Bale asks incredulously. “Now, do you have any friends or cohorts that might like to help get us there in one piece?” Torin asks. “Also, do you want to get Dinner, I’m starving.” *frawl - young female in the Dwarven language

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Five: Dragonlance Southwest Ansalon Southern Abanasinia Hamlet of Digfel Bale says “Wait, stop, the Monument of the Silver Dragon, that’s on Southern Ergoth. What are you playing at what is this really about?” Torin explains “Well given the current circumstances in Dwarf Home, the Hammer of Kharas is not attainable at this time. If Reorx wanted it, he would have us get it, but the mountain closed tight. It’s all Severus Stonehand’s fault, but that’s beside the point. No, we are going to be stuck with lesser Dragonlances, but that’s the best we can hope for.” Bale just stops “Wait, you need the Silver arm of Ergoth for that.” “Well, I, we, are going to be on our way to see a man about that.” Shocked realization washes over Bale. He’s quieted the rest of the way to the Inn. The rush has come through and they can find a booth. A friendly dwarf waitress comes out and tells them what the special is and asks what they want to drink. They both order dwarf spirits and she brings them back their drinks and disappears for a while. Bale is still quiet, and Torin reads the menu. The waitress eventually comes back and takes their order. Mutton and stew. Soon they are eating, but Bale is still quiet. Torin asks Bale” If he is okay.’ “Yeah. I’m okay. I just, late last year, the bandits took over Digfel. We all thought we were dead. Trapped miners down in the mine-shaft for weeks. They took my arm off on the 15th day. They caught me trying to sneak food and water to the miners. I still feel it sometimes, I try not to think about it and here I am thinking about it. You say I have this great destiny, I guess I am just shaken to my core. Like everything mattered after all.” Torin nods his head, he understands now. “I did not mean to bring up old wounds.” The door of the Inn opens and in comes a Dwarf, kind of hard to pin down, not dressed like others. Wearing a leather vest, mostly black clothes, and boots. He sits down next to Bale and asks him what he’s doing, they are supposed to be playing cards. “Oh, that was tonight,” Bale says. Suddenly snapping from his deep thoughts. Torin makes a quick observation of the new dwarf. He is a hill dwarf. The bolts on his belt tell Tyros that the man has a crossbow, and he sees his daggers. The Dwarf sees that he is being observed and asks, “Who is this?” “The name is Torin Stonebeard. I’m from Kayolin.” Torin answers. “You a priest, you’re dressed like a priest.” coming from the Hill Dwarf. “I am indeed a Priest of our Maker, Lord Reorx himself.” Torin answers again. “What are you talking to a Priest for?” the Dwarf directs to his friend Bale. "You're not dying are you?" Bale speaks up and says “He and I are just having dinner; I’m just thinking about some things. By the way, this is Slade Grimblade.” “Is he one of the ones that would help?” Torin asks “Help you do what?” Slade asks. “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think I’m going to Southern Ergoth. I think I have to go, will you come with me?” Bales says, not quite believing the worlds came out. “Southern Ergoth? That would mean we would have to get on a boat.” Slade says. “It is true, it would be the only way to get there.” Slade thinks about it for a moment. Bale hates ships but is going anyway. “How serious is this, you guys are serious about this?” “Reorx help us.” Torin lets out. Slade thinks about it, and finally says “Sure, what the hell.” “Good, Now who else might be willing to help us?” “If you go out there in the middle of the town and ask, I bet everybody would agree to go, so you might ask yourself how many other dwarves you will need,” Slade tells the Priest. Torin think about it “I don’t know, Six or Eight.” “Personally, I can’t handle any more than that myself. Slade says. You alright Bale?” “Yeah, this is like a dream, I can’t believe this is happening to me,” Bale says. Slade says, “Like the time of old, the gathering of Heroes. Let’s go see who answers the call”

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Seven: God Dreams Bale is deeply sleeping, Dreams of prophecy begin to flood his night. His time under the Mountain, His home The Festival of the Dead The Earth Quake Watching the falling of the Life Tree, the death of his wife and his family, all those families. The Exile from Thorbardin, The Banishment of Tarn Bellowgranite, by the bastard Jungor Stonesinger. Fell heavily into drink, spent many years of waking up, covered in sick, head pounding. Empty. The depression had taken hold of him, nearly broke him Then the Bandits came and destroyed his life further. Took his arm, his favored arm, and hand. What he made, shields, swords, armor. His life shattered. He sees himself at work, with an assistant helping him. His rhythm is off, weak. He feels like he is lifted in the sky and transported away from there and finds himself crossing the Strait of Algoni and finding himself at rest on a melting glacier. Great rivers are feeding into a great lake. He sees a dead White Dragon rotting in the sun. The Last of the Overlords has fallen. The land comes alive green and the multitude of colors of spring has returned. Now he soaring above mountains and beyond, the Silver Dragon Monument rising 700 feet above the valley floor Its beauty and workmanship bring tears to his eyes. The glacier is rapidly receding, you begin walking around the great lake. He stops, He can see Ogres across the lake. He looks toward the mountains. We will have to walk on this side of the lake to lessen the chance of running into bands of ogres. He is in a forest; this is an elven place. He looks around. He sees a grave and a gravestone. Is this his or someone who has come here before? He sees that the Grave is very well maintained. Fresh flowers are brought here, in remembrance. He is startled awake. Theros, that was the name on the Tombstone. Theros Ironfeld We are going to see him…. But maybe he is dead, or maybe he will…. Why show his tombstone, unless I’m supposed to go there to see this place? I don’t know if I understand fully. Crossing the Sea, Ogres, who knows what else? What if I’m not the one? But you were shown all of this in your dream. “Dreams aren’t real. “He gets up, puts his pants on, and grabs a shirt, his pack, and his money and then he climbs out his window until his feet hit the ground, and leaves the immediate area. He stands for a moment and decides which direction he will go. Maybe Pax Tharkas. Beale begins walking away from his destiny in the night. Bale begins reflecting on his time during his exile. It’s been eight years since Tarn’s overthrown by Hylar Jungor Stonesinger. Tarn’s supporters were sent into exile with them. A lot of the exiles lived out of the Fortress of Pax Tharkas. But it soon became overcrowded and some Dwarves moved on to find temporary homes elsewhere. One day he stopped drinking, Got himself right, and out into his new world. Several towns in Abanasinia saw an influx of Dwarven tradesmen. Many fights started as the sudden mixture of Mountain Dwarfs and Hill Dwarves into the ecosphere made for an explosive combination. The new reality made the dwarves adapt and try to live in the same places and spaces, It has not always worked, but Digfel has been enriched by the the Exiles He does not get far before he looks into the distance. What is he doing? Is he going to walk out on Reorx, the Maker? My life of loss and still more loss has all brought me here to this moment. He turns back around and decides he will embrace this new destiny. He finds the Priest and Slade playing a hand of cards. “Everything alright Bale?” Slade asks. “Yeah, I’m going back to bed. Good night.” He puts his pack down kicks his boots off and climbs into his bed. “You should turn in too, going to be a full day tomorrow,” Slade says. Torin agrees and begins to lay down on his Bedroll. “You staying up in case he leaves again?” “No, I figure he is out for the count this time, I’ll finish this pipe, and head to sleep myself. -The Scene Ends

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Eight: Together, Setting out Southwest Ansalon Southern Abanasinia First Day on the Road Torin Stonebeard explains the plan. Walking south to New Ports to hire a ship. We will stay in an inn there and get the supplies we will need for the Journey. “And where are we going? Aks Grail Longtooth. “Southern Ergoth, to the Vale of the Silver Dragon.” Torin Answers. The answer quiets everyone down. Torin continues and says ‘I’m told that Ogres control a significant portion of the continent, also there are Elves. I don’t know how many, there was some story I heard a bunch of them moved to Cristyne. But I still expect there to be some about. It also said the lands we are going into are Wild Elf lands. I don’t know if these Wild Elves moved to Cristyne as well, or what. But I don’t speak Wild-Elf, and I’m going to guess none of you do either. So, we are going to need to find a guide that speaks Wild-Elf just in case they are still there.” He rolls out a map of relatively recent map, made during the Age of Dragons. It shows the path through the Lastgaard Mountains. “I’m assuming that is going to take us near to the Ogre-held lands?” asks Barek Stormhammer “Pretty close right here. They all nod in comprehension. Bane sees the great lake remembers something from his dream the previous night, and speaks up “If we travel Northeast path around the lake counterclockwise, we will avoid encountering ogres all on this west side of the lake.” They all look at him… Bale decides to disclose where he got the information from. “I think the Maker sent Dreams last night to prepare me for the journey. I saw it in a dream last night, On our path through the mountains, I saw the monument of Silver Dragon.” All of the dwarves are made speechless. Even Torin is quieted. He rolls up the map and slides it into the scroll case. “Well, let go. And they are off. Walking together, they make good time in their march south. Their slowest is Vorimir Stoneaxe, the second oldest, and the heaviest of all of them. He does not slow them down terribly as he sees the oldest of them is Grail Longtooth, a Neidar that is still moving pretty well for an old timer, It inspires Vorimir to try to keep at pace. Sweating already, he’s a grumbler, already losing that weight. Grail Longtooth is a Grumbler, not too bad where it's unbearable. Mostly he’s the grumpy dwarf of the bunch. Earth tone clothes The conversation is light around the circle as they eat the roasted turkeys that Slade shot on the way. Torin observes the bunch. So far, the group is meshing well, of course, this is only the beginning. We will all be on each other nerves before long. Ragrim Shattershield is a big Haus of a dwarf. Jennar Blackstone is the youngest and most inexperienced of the group. He still has skills it’s said. At least he is quiet and reserved. Baraek Stormhammer comes from an ancient house. He is the quintessential mountain dwarf. From a proud noble house. The perfect golden locks, the perfect beard. Carries a noble bearing, but it has hurt him being exiled. Drove a stake straight through his heart. But he still walks tall and proud for supporting Tarn Bellowgranite. Sitting around the campfire, discussion and debate turn to the Hammer of Kharas, Thorbardin, and The False King Jungor Stonesinger. Things start getting heated and Torin stands up and tells everyone to calm down. “There is nothing we can do about the Hammer right now. Thorbardin is locked up tight to the world. But one day soon, the wall will be knocked down on a glorious day of judgment by a Chosen of Reorx, but that is not going to be me. No, we have a different path that has been laid out for us. We don’t know the why, but whatever it is it's important. The Hammer is lost to us right now. I hate to sound defeatist about it, but all it would do wind us up dead, and then how would we help anybody? He will have to do with making half-good Lances as Reorx has not divined the exact plan to get into the Mountain yet. So that’s the end of it, it burns me up too. I mean, we are right here, this close to the mountain, but that’s the end of it.” Torin concludes the conversation about the Hammer of Kharas, Thorbardin, and the False King. Everyone is left to stew on the matter. They rotate a Guard on watch duty and change every few hours just to be safe. With the fire crackling, Dwarves begin to fall off to sleep, as Baraek Stormhammer takes the first watch. The scene Ends

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Nine: The Siren’s Song
Southwest Ansalon Abanasina New Coast The White-Rage River The Dwarves cross the major bridge that fords the White-Rage River and enter into New Ports. New Ports Population 994 They pass by stables, blacksmith the first Inn on the left. The sign says the Roaring Griffon. Several dwarves of the group say this Inn has the best ale and hops beer. It's decided then that they will stay in the Roaring Griffon. It’s an establishment owned by Elves, but at least they are bright enough to hire a Dwarf bartender. Hope they don’t serve elf food. The ale is really good. The beer is really good. The Menu has some elf things, but the rest of the menu is normal. They decide to get rooms while Torin, Bale Ironforge, Slade Grimblade, and Baraek Stormhammer go in further into town and get supplies, a ship, a ship captain, and a crew. Baraek tells them that he has been thinking, “Bale you said there were Mountains in your dream, if it is a vale, then we might have to climb. If we have to climb, we are going to need rope, maybe a lot of it. And climbing tools, and climbing gear.” Torin thanks him and puts him in charge of getting what they need, if he needs help, get Ragrim Shattershield to help. Torin then gives him a money pouch that may cover the costs, then again, maybe it won’t. He tells him to come back to him if he needs more money. Baraek is off to get rope and order some special equipment from the blacksmith. Torin, Bale, and Slade go to the docks and walk by the ships at port. They go into the Gem of the Sea Tavern and go to the Bar wait for the Bartender and ask if they know of any Ship Captains that would be twill to go to Southern Ergoth. The Bartender points out a man sitting with a woman. Torin asks what they are drinking, orders the drinks, and brings them over to the Man and woman. “There you go, compliments of myself and my companions. I’m really sorry to barge in on you Captain, but I am Torin Stonebeard and We are looking for a Captain with a ship that can take us to Southern Ergoth we were pointed in your direction” The man is in his forties, tanned and weathered face with stubble. He’s smoking a pipe. The woman is half his age, a dark brunette, and has a hard-edged way about her. The captain asks “How many passengers, any cargo” Torin answers “Eight, our food supplies, packs maybe a donkey. “Alright. When?” The captain asks. “Well, as soon as it would be possible for you to set out,” Torin says “The day after tomorrow would be the soonest I could get my crew together and loaded for that kind of journey. Would that work for you, Torin Stonebreaker?” The captain replies. “Aye, it’s the best I can hope for. Price?” “Ten Steel a head, including the Donkey.” Torin grumbles and pays the man and they shake hands.” The ship is out there, it’s the Siren’s Song. By the way, names Marko Trell. The Dwarves find the ship. It will do just fine. Look safe, and well maintained. To be fair, they are all mostly well-maintained. With that done, they go buy a Donkey.

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Nine: The Voyage Part One New Sea Straits of Schallsea Sailing the Straits of Schallsea aboard the Siren’s Song, a Schooner Medium Merchantman. The dwarves spent their time in New Ports mostly constructively. They gathered food supplies for the journey, along with the climbing spikes for the boots, and spiked islets for Rope to pass through. Length of rope for each Dwarf to connect to for safety lines. A big coil of rope. Got saddlebags for the donkey, and a rope leash and harness for the donkey in case it is uncooperative. They have a feeding bag, and large water bags for the animal to have a supply of water, along with They got food (Oats) and treats for the donkey, but they won’t keep forever. Apples, pears. A spyglass, Blankets, Firewood, many Wineskins water, Torches, a shovel, fishing poles, lines, hooks, and worms. Along with any other necessities that may be needed. On the Siren’s Song now, Captained by Marko Trell. Crew Leon Avery Hetch Cook Kino The Passengers Torin Stonebeard Slade Grimblade Bale Ironforge Barek Stormhammer Grail Longtooth Vorimir Stoneaxe Ragrim Shattershield Jennnar Blackstone They sing songs that don't offend with the Hill Dwarves or the Mountain Dwarves and they find something they all can enjoy. They drink, and play cards. Near all of the dwarves go up to the deck and throw up over the side. Each one tells a little about themselves Torin tells about his life in Granite, in the Kingdom of Kayolin. Mining, Merchandizing. Made a small fortune. The attack wiped out his store and a multitude of other stores. Cleaned out. At least I still had my life, I have friends that did not make it out alive. Reorx found me and offered my Hammer back to me and came to work for him. And that was his calling. Slade’s story is about his Hunting goblins and criminal scum. He’s a Hill Dwarf. Comes and goes through the towns of Hill Home. Collected his fair share of goblin ears for the Lord of Haven. Have killed a fair share of bandits. More cunning than he admits to. Always thinking, always thinking steps ahead. Quiet, but if asked, he’s as opinionated as the rest of them. Latched onto Bale even if he was a Mountain Dwarf. They didn’t argue over ancient history. They were interested in putting food on the table. Slade was married, but his wife left him. He’s not entirely tight with the Grimblade family. Kind has been a Lone Wolf for too long. But whatever personal stuff is going on with him, he hides it behind being the Quit One. Bale, DM-He shares much of what has been covered already. Had a spouse, and family, and they died with the Lifetree collapsed. Mostly an introspective, good-natured, middle-of-the-road, does not ride on anyone’s tail. Just get things done the best he can. Barek Stormhammer The family has an ancient name and has been honored in years past. Can this one live up to a long legacy of great heroes? We can only hope. He has acclimated himself well, and despite living a very good life in social circles before, The Exile of the followers of Tarn Bellowgranite floored him. He was walking in a daze for a while. He is capable, able to laugh at himself, and has the perfect hair jokes. He too is just trying to do the best he can do. He is committed to this cause, seeing a chance to echo his family’s record of honor on this mission. Grail Longtooth Pessimistic, argumentative, insufferable. But lovable all the same. Brings up good points, can be halfway friendly, and is low-key hilarious. As with all of them, a walking contradiction. The Longtooths live in Hillhome. He is the patriarch of his Family clan. Hillsmart. Cautious, can come off as disarming. But a Battlerager in a fight. Vorimir Stoneaxe Overweight. The cook. Second oldest. The food he makes is a touch above tolerable. An easy target. A grumbler. Wise Ragrim Shattershield The large ox known as known as Ragrim Shattershield is ham-fisted and gregarious. Has become friend to Barek Stormhammer. Jennnar Blackstone The baby of the group. Still working on his beard. A Hill Dwarf of Winterhome. The Waves Sea sickness They stop at the Port of Schallsea for the captain and crew to unload some cases from the hold, and the captain gets paid, and they are off to Southern Ergoth...

Everybody’s flaws come out over the next few days. Divisions are always under the surface. Camaraderie will build over time There have been laughs, arguments, hurt feelings, apologies, and the gambit of activities dwarves get cooped up in one place for weeks on end. They learn how to clean their own to cut down on getting illness They learn why activities happen on a ship. The constant cleaning and scrubbing, besides giving people things to do, serve an important function. To cut down on illnesses. Some who care to learn get some seamanship. Torin shares dinner with the captain on occasion. The Passengers catch the first sight of Southern Ergoth in the distance. They still have many miles to go before they reach Port. The Meteor impact that created the new sea destroyed much of Ergoth as it is seen today the tectonic plates are broken apart and Ergoth breaks apart along old and new fault lines. A third of the Empire was covered by ocean and the rest was split into five islands. Northern Ergoth, Cristyne, Enstar, Nostar, and Southern Erogth. The nullification of the Gales and the portals within, has increased shipping by a hundred-fold. The fall of the Last Dragon Overlord has created enormous opportunities for the people of Ansalon, and their merchants and markets.

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Ten: Zhea Harbor Southwestern Ansalon The Sirrion Sea Southern Eroth the Siren’s Song, Captain Marko Trell. Dry Axe (June) Summer Home Corji The Island Continent of Southern Erogth looms before the ship. They enter Morgosh Bay, despite the misgiving the captain had. He had wanted to drop them off at Pontigoth, but with the glacier melted in Morgosh Bay, and the Crytal bridge destroyed, the Party can make landfall at Zhea Harbor and hopefully avoid Daltigoth. The captain relents and brings them in. For forty years the Bay was covered by an ice sheet and Zhea Harbor was landlocked. Ergoth has used Harbor for detachments from their main force that got off at Pontigoth. Once anchored, the dwarves are brought into the port area. The Dwarves are a nervous wreck during the whole procedure, but the sea is calm, they get their Donkey unloaded and make their goodbyes to the captain and crew they have gotten to know over time. They enter the town of Zhea Harbor. It has changed dramatically from just years ago. It is still perhaps not the safest place, but the Ergothians ran out the scum that was infesting the place and chased them into the north. The Brass Tiger Company along with the Ergothian Merchant Marines is here keeping order and promoting trade. They find an Inn and get rooms and spread out around town trying to pick up information about the approaches to the west. Their mule is named May. She is fed and watered by Jennnar Blackstone, who takes on the job. They come back and discuss what they learned. The Western way from the city is mostly cleared of trouble. Once we get into the Pass, it’s an open question. Thanoi, Ogres, and White Dragonspawn have all been killed or they ran off into the wild. They learn that nearly all the elves have left Southern Ergoth and now live on Crystine. There is a mild outburst about their only clue about Theros was that he was with the wild elves. If they have all left, did he go with them? Torin closes his eyes and preys on the answer. Torin opens his eyes and says they his here, he has not left with the elves. They all look at each other and accept what Torin says. The Dwarven company turns in to get an early start the next morning.

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Eleven: Ephraim
Southwestern Ansalon Southern Eroth Zhea Harbor The dwarves are waking up early the next. They see Torin preying to Reorx as they have seen him do before. They go to get breakfast. They sit down and order their meals. Torin eventually joins the other dwarves for breakfast. He is trying to reason out a message from Reorx, but it is not very clear what he is supposed to do. He hopes he can figure it out before they get moving. He saw a Fire, now why fire? What does it mean? He gets up and walks around the room. Fire. Multicolored flames. He’s got it. He looks around until he finds who he is looking for. A Man in a brown robe is finishing his coffee when a Dwarf slides into his booth. The Dwarf is also in a brown robe. They look at each other for a moment. The Man is not handsome, homely is perhaps the best description, large front teeth. A poor excuse for a beard. But it’s an honest face. The Man asks the dwarf” Is there something I can do for Master Dwarf? “ “As a matter of fact, there is. Why is a priest of Sirrion here on Southern Ergoth?” “Not that it's any of your business, I was directed here.” The Priest answers. Tornin explains “This morning during morning prayer, I was given a vision of different color flame. I got the feeling it was important, but I did figure it out until now. I was supposed to find you here, now. I am a part of a company of Dwarves, we are going to Foghaven. I did not even think of it until now.” “You are saying you think I am supposed to help you? It could be, I have not figured out why am here yet. I’ve yet to figure out why I have been directed here. He prays to Sirriron, seeking the reason, but he is not given clarity on the matter. “My god is not being clear to me. Why do you think I am supposed to help Master Dwarf.” “Because none of us can get the Forge going like you can.” Torin answers. The priest thinks about the statement. He looks back at the Dwarf, “I think you are right. I’ll be getting my things. I’m Ephraim by the way, nice to meet you Mater Dwarf. “Name’s Torin, Torin Stonebeard, Priest of Reorx. We are at the table over there. We are headed out soon.” “Understood, I’ll be back” Torin walks back over to his companions. “Alright, The Maker in his infinite wisdom has given me a sign to get help from another. Now I couldn’t figure it out, But I have now. We have an addition to the group, a Human priest of Sirrion.” The dwarfs start grumbling and asking why. “He’s going to help us get the Forge going.” Torin answers. Enlightenment lights up their faces. They all begin to smile and look at each other in amazement. Soon the Dwarves, their mule, and their human companion are traveling west, towards the mountains.

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Eleven: Into the Last Gaard Mountains Southwestern Ansalon Southern Eroth Last Gaard Mountains Traveling West from Zhea Harbor It is a desolate area that the Dwarves have traveled to. They had to travel north by many miles to get around the lake. Moving ever closer to the looming Last Gaard Mountains. Their new companion has proven himself useful and not a hindrance thus far. He is getting to know the separate personalities of the Dwarven members of the company. During his daily prayer, it would seem that Sirrion has given his blessing to Ephraim’s path. The air is getting very chilly in the morning hours. It takes the party two days to reach the Pass. The bath of the Noble River has carved a path over eons, helped along by the recent melting of the glacier. People have moved through in the last year or so. A Bridge has been built to ford the river. They could risk the Pass, but with no clear path through the pass, they cross the bridge and find a road North, coming from looming mountains. They have to decide between the road into the mountains and the North Road to Castle Eastwatch. After some spirited back and forth, the concern is the Knights will hold them and question them about what they are doing, setting them back. The alternative argument, maybe they have the Silver Arm. The decision comes down to Bale. He had been gifted visions. So far, things have played out the way he saw it. He does not know what a deviation would do to their chances. “We follow the Road into the mountains. We are close.” After that, the decision is made and the party heads onto the road into the Mountains. The road stops being a road and becomes a path. They push as fear and they can safely go, and then camp for the Night. Now the Nights get very cold. A passing rainstorm ends up dumping a dusting of snow over the region for the Dwarves to wake to. As they begin traveling south, the Dwarves start to see tracks in the dusting of snow. Mountain Lions are here. They also find Ogre prints. Ready for anything, they move forward, climbing over dead fallen trees, and uneven terrain. after many days, the Dwarves, the Human and the Mule get closer to their destination but are soon lost.

Chosen of Reorx Story One Chapter Twelve: Wolves
Southwestern Ansalon Southern Eroth Last Gaard Mountains Dwarves being lost is never fun to be around. Especially when they have people to blame. The fault falls on Bale and Torin. They really thought this path led to Foghaven. They retrace their steps to see if they missed something. It is then they hear that they are not alone. A Pack of Wolves has been tracking them. The leader takes in the scene. The dwarfs instantly shift so that the two guys they were just complaining about, Bale and Torin are protected, the Human behind them. The leader leads the pack over the hill and down towards the Dwarves. Barek Stormhammer, Ragrim Shattershield, and Vorimir Stoneaxe each strike when the wolves lunge. Vorimir drive a polearm into one. Stormhammer beats the snarling face of the leader back, knocking out teeth. With his Warhammer. Shattershield hits the next one with his Mace. Several more wolves have entered the fray, they go for the Priest of Sirrion. Grail Longtooth and Jennnar Blackstone each swing for the wolf and another pushes Longtooth down. Jennnar chops into that wolf. Bale hammers the last one and it leaves the area along with others that are still alive. They find the presence of the ruins of a village. They investigate and find a cave. They regroup and head into the cave. It is a long cave, that snakes and swerves. May the Mule is not pleased to be in here. They soon see that coming to the cave entrance, they have entered Foghaven, and the Sun is going down, but through the Fog, they see the first sign of the Silver Dragon Monument. They make camp and decide what to do next. They plan to see the Monument and see if there are any approaches that will take us there, but our primary job is to get to the Elderwood. And soon.

They tug her along as they walk around one of the lakes/ Through the Fog the Silver Dragon Monument rises over four hundred feet into the sky above. Its Magnificat. It keeps all of the Dwarves in awe, they don’t even notice how close they are to Huma’s Tomb. “Who are you? What are you doing here? Dwarves, come to loot, have you?” comes a lone voice in the Vale. “Barek, son of Barnabus Stormhammer does not loot graves, you offend thee!” “Now calm down Barek, we don’t want any trouble from anyone that holds this Holy Site. They do not know us. Do not press this, let me do the talking” “Talk Priest.” Barek snarls. “Quite a temper on your friend says the voice.” “I don’t think he likes a person besmirching his family’s honor.” “Then apologies Barek, son of Barnabus.” The voice belongs to a young Knight. Torin reasons through the scene. “A lone Knight would not be out here all alone like this, and speak with such bravado.” “You are right Master Dwarf. No ordinary Knight would.” It is then that he sees Bale Ironforge for the first time, and notices that his right arm is gone. Pity rings through Knight. He considers. “Why are you here Priest?” Torin tells it to him straight. “Reorx called me to pick my Hammer and head south from Kayolin to find Bale because something is about to happen, and nobody else was sent to do this, we were. Their names were chosen by chance and random, and Slade came because Bale was his friend. Reorx has sent us to forge Dragonlances. The Hammer is lost to us at this time, The Silver Arm is our only chance to Forge Dragonlances, they will be lesser of course, but they are better than nothing. It hurts to say that, but Thorbardin is shut up tight.” “Alas, that is hard news. You must go to the Elderwoods, and I must come with you.” “What about Guarding the Tomb and all that.” “This is more important; besides you will never get past Wrynn Darkfeather without me. “ “Why is that”. Slade Grimknife asks “She’s the new Grand Druid of Chislev. And she is a Kagonesti, yes, all of the Elves left, except for the Defenders of the Elderwood that have sworn the Oath of the Pathfinder. It goes way, way back.” The Knight says “I haven’t caught your name friend?” Slade Grimblade observes. “My Human name is Chase.” The Knight answers.

Chosen of Reorx Book One Chapter Fourteen: The Curse Torin explains to his companions, that the Knight is most likely a Good Dragon. I can’t be sure of what kind he may be, but the legends of this area tell us that this is one of the holiest sites of the Silver Dragons, so I would not bet against him being a Silver Dragon. A Silver Dragon. None of the Dwarves have ever been around a dragon before. They felt fear and could not explain why. The Knight leads them from the valley back into the Mountains. A couple of days later, they enter the Elderwood. Arrows rain down at their feet. “Come no closer Sons of Reorx, unless you want to become a pin cushion.” Says a stern, but feminine voice from the forest. “Friendly.” Grail Longtooth says sarcastically. “Anything but Master Longtooth,” Chase says. “Hail, Defenders of the Elder Wood. It is I, Chase, the Defender of the Vale have come seeking the wisdom of the Grand Druid Wrynn.” “You have found her Chase of the Vale. Why have you brought these… Sons of the earth to our lands?’ The Knight motions for Bale to step forward. Bale steps forward. From the Forest, a near-naked beautiful Wild Elf steps into the clearing. dressed in the most minimal of scraps of material and not leaving much to the imagination. She has tanned skin, with tribal markings on different parts of her body. Short black hair, with green eyes. She looks at Bale as if staring into his soul. “He was sent by the Maker, Lord Reorx,” Chase says. “Does he know of the curse?” “What curse?" Bale asks “I’m afraid I don’t know about any curse.” Torin says “What curse do you speak of fair maiden?” “I am the Chosen of Chislev, I am Wrynn. The curse I speak of is the curse tied to the Kargai Sargaron.” The Dwarfs did not understand, they leaned in to hear what the Knight translated. Kargai Sargaron -He of the Silver Arm.” Wrynn goes on in the common tongue “It is known as the Grey Wraith; he haunts the grave of the one known as Theros Ironfeld. You must defeat it if you take up the arm. If you do not defeat the Wraith, it will haunt you for eternity. Bale feels himself falter a bit from the news. He asks himself if he is prepared to risk such a heavy price. He steps forward. He has never been so sure in his life. “I will go.” Torin feels the possible faltering of the mission. Slade steps forward, “You won’t face it alone brother.” Bale shakes his hand with his left. “Thank you, Brother.” “Dagnabbit you two aren’t doing this alone,” Stormhammer says as he steps forward. “Well if you’re going, I’m going.” Complains The Old Hill Dwarf Grail Longtooth. The competition between Grail Longtooth and Vorimir Stoneaxe still going strong, Vorimir Stoneaxe joins the Dwarves going into the Forest. Ragrim Shattershield steps forward, “We are all with you Bale, all of us.” Jennnar Blackstone steps forward. “Thank you all, just thanks,” Bales says, feeling a bit overwhelmed by their loyalty in the face of danger. "One little problem fellas, unless you have Silver weapons you haven't told me about, or Magically enhanced weapons, if you go fight the Wraith, you won't be coming back. Lets think about this for a moment. My hammer has been blessed, I blessed Bale's hammer when he was asleep. Anyone else?" Torin says. Torin blesses Slade Grimblade's Short sword. "We will go forward with you Bale." Ephraim, the Priest of Sirrion says he will join you also. "I don't want to do this, I'm scared out of my mind, but I think I can help." I will accompany you, my Sword is Silver, but beware, though it is called the Grey Wraith, it is in fact a Spectre. Still will only be hit with silver or magical weapon, when it strikes you, it will steal your lifeforce. "No", Says Wrynn, "you should not go to your doom." "It is that important." Chase says solemnly. Bale looks to the Wild Elf. She looks at the Knight and then back to Bale. “Follow me.”

Chosen of Reorx Book One Chapter Fifteen: The Grey Wraith Southwest Ansalon Southern Ergoth The Elderwood Torin Stonebeard Slade Grimblade carries the shovel over his shoulder. Bale Ironforge Chance Ephraim Avery Following behind the Wild Elf Wrynn Darkfeather. They reach a glen and there, they see the Tombstone of the final resting place of Theros Ironfeld. Wyrnn tells them they need only to disturb the grave for the spectre to reveal itself. She will remain apart from your mission. “It is Chislev’s will alone that I allow you into this Forest and disturb this heroes rest.” Torin says a Prayer for the desecration of the grave of a hero. Slade drives the shovel head into the ground at the gravesite. He no more than takes the dirt and shovels it to the side when the wispy strands of shadow begin to form above the grave. Slade backs away, still holding the shovel. The Shade has form, albeit, shadow stuff, but they think they can tell he was once an elf, perhaps a priest by his robe. He is a Dark reflection of his former self. His Life is bound with the arm. “You dare…” It says in a menacing screeching voice. “You dare come to steal the arm? I will not let you steal the arm. I will make you all dead!” It goes for Slade, but a stone of burning fire strikes the Spectre. Torin passes one to Slade. “Throw it like you mean it.” It starts to go for Torin and claws at him Slade Throws the stone Torin gave him at the spectre. Chase comes forward and slashes the spectre across the chest. The spectre sees the real thief, the one that will take the arm. It goes for Bale. Bale raises his blessed Hammer and slams it at the undead, but the Spectre absorbs the hit and flies straight for Bale-They struggle, it appears it is trying to strangle Bale. Ephraim Avery, the Priest of Sirrion whispers holy words and makes motions with his fingers – A brilliant ray of scorching heat that arcs down from the sky to strike the spectre and ultimately incinerates the undead. DM -The Grey Wraith is gone, though its spirit is tied to the Silver Arm of Ergoth. Defeat of the Grey Wraith Slade Digs up the grave and finds the casket. He opens it up and climbs out of the hole. There, Theros’s decomposed skeleton, and at his side, is the Silver Arm of Ergoth. Wrynn Darkfeather says a prayer of asking for forgiveness for disrupting your rest friend of the everfriend of the Kagonesti. Torin does much the same. Theros Ironfeld was known to his people only by the legend of the Man and his works. He looks to Bale and nods. Bale looks at his friend Slade, then walks towards the dug-up grave. He looks at the modest tombstone bearing the name Theros, and he sees his own grave being open one day for the arm, and will he too, carry the cure of the Grey Wraith after he is dead? Bale accepts the burden and climbs and almost falls in, but catches himself. Sprinkles of dirt fall over the side into his hair as he carefully reaches, but as he is reaching the arm twitches on its own. Moments later it is in Bale's left hand, he begins to reach it toward his right shoulder, and mystical swirls of silver light course between the shoulder and the Silver Arm. The Silver Arm connects with his shoulder and it is a searing experience that shakes Bale straight to his core. But he does fall in, he catches himself with his right silver hand. Feeling the holy energy revitalize his tired and beaten body he becomes whole. Slade offers Bale a hand up. He takes his hand and Bale Ironforge climbs out of the grave wearing the Silver Arm of Ergoth on his right arm. Torin beams with satisfaction at seeing this part of this mission realized. Bale closes the casket and says “Thank you.” He uses his new silver arm to rebury the previous holder, as he hopes the next bearer of the Silver Arm will do for him. He nods to the Grand Druid and tells her thank you. Chase and Wrynn share some words and then he accompanies the others to the rest of the company. When The dwarves see Bale and the Silver Arm, they all run to him and embrace him with joy. Torin, Slade, and Ephraim join in on the celebration.

Chase says “time has moved on, who knows how many more Dragon Wars there will be.” Before everyone gets up and gets ready to move out Chase explains some of what to look forward to. “It will be treacherous up there in some places, I’ll help you the best I can.” There are Giant Eagles, Kyrie, possibly Ogres, and possibly a Saqualamino. “Are those even real?” Barek asks disbelievingly. Vorimir answers “Your Damn right they’re real. I guess you’ve never had to fight one them before. Big apes. Tall big and ugly, and strong too.” “Okay.” Stormhammer says, still not entirely believing them, but accepting the possibility they still exist. “I’d be interested to see a Kyrie though.” They are soon on the move to the Monument of the Silver Dragon, The Fog fills the Valley, but the Stone Dragon stands four hundred feet above them, and they see glimpses of the towering majestic Stone Dragon. Chase explains that there was once a path from Huma’s Tomb, but it has been sealed off by cave-ins during the cataclysm. Chase leads them on the path up the mountain on the secret path. It takes a couple of days. Most of them were quietly paying attention to what they were doing lest they fall. The loss of their teammates hangs like a cloud over their climb and dealing with the existing conditions. They unpacked May first and led her over the enlarged sheep. The path up was treacherous at times. They reached the First Base Camp and rotated guards through the night. The Next day comes across many Giant Eagles. They see Chase, and they calm down, and let the party pass. Travel through the day, getting Vorimir Stoneaxe up here was a chore. They travel to the Second Base Camp, and rest for the night, posting guards, same as before. The Next day, they are up with Breakfast. They can hear what sounds like big birds a distance away, but they can not see anything. They are getting closer to the back of the Stone Dragon. They set out; they inch past a crevice one at a time. It takes the humans and big dwarves longer to get across. They send Vorimir Stoneaxe second. Slade went across first. After Vorimir, Torin goes, then Bale, then Stormhammer inches by. He hears noises go on, like roars, he hurries along faster, almost slipping, and he gets by to see Saqualamino (A wild white-haired, ape-man) wrestling with Bale. Slade and Torin are picking themselves up off the ground. They have been knocked down by this savage man-beast. Vorimir is on the edge, knocked out. Barek Stormhammer grabs the white hairy ape man from behind. The Saqualamino pushes Bale into the stone wall hard turns around and wrestles Stormhammer, soon Barek is knocked down. Slade slashes the back of the Man ape’s legs. It is angered and roars and starts to grab Torin to throw at Slade. Stormhammer can just see it happened and he stands up and rushes the Bull Saqualamino taking them both off the cliff.

Chosen of Reorx Book II Chapter Six: The Heart Chamber Southwest Ansalon Southern Ergoth Last Gaard Mountains Foghaven Vale The Stone Dragon It’s said that Death comes in threes. Unfortunately, it is true today. Barek Stormhammer went out as a hero. He left behind his War Hammer hoping his teammates when take it home to his family. Those that are left- Torin Stonebeard Slade Grimblade Bale Ironforge Vorimir Stoneaxe Ragrim Shattershield Ephraim Avery Chance The Dragon Knight Now they are seven. Down from Nine. They move ahead, the elation of winning the arm to this now empty feeling, not quite numb. They all carry the pain with them, Barek Stormhammer was well-liked by the others. He got hot-headed at times, but he was ever helpful. Ragrim Shattershield has taken it hard. They knew each other back in Thorbardin. The large bird noises are back and Chance warns them the Kyrie are high-strung. “They serve Chislev. They will let us pass, don’t cause any problems.” The Hidden Vale A kyrie Warhawk, an aggressive seeming bird man stops them from progressing into the Vale, until they see Chance, the silver Knight. The Kyrie part for the Silver Knight and the Dwarves to advance. Several of them come to Bale and look at his arm. They look at Bale and look at the arm. King Skydancer of the Aara-Kocra tribe Welcomes the Silver Knight. The King sees Bale and he tells his guards to escort the Silver Knight and his companions to the Secret Entrance. They reach the The only entrance from the Hidden Vale into the Dragon is through a door located along the Stone Dragon’s spine. The Door needs to be fixed. It is damaged, and barely on the hinges. Chance leads them inside. Chance tells them this was, is the Temple The corridor ahead of them opens into a wide area of worship with a high ceiling. The shrine is forty feet deep, with passages leading east and west. Benches line the walls, and at the far end is a small altar beneath a huge tapestry. The tapestry depicts a warrior in armor of shining silver, a mighty dragon sitting regally behind him, and a constellation in the black sky. Empty Rooms (Priest Rooms) Stone Guardians This is a large, ornately carved room. Two huge statues stand before each arched room entrance, shimmering as if exposed to great heat. A pile of broken stone lies by the northern passage. In the north wall, there is a door and a well in the northeast corner with a hole in the ceiling above it. The Lower Gallery Entrance Foyer The Balcony The full mural of the Dragonwar Gallery can be seen from this balcony, which looks out over the stairs Gallery of Dragonwars. It starts to the left, as did the one in Pax Tharkas. Great, evil dragons descend from the sky, destroying a mighty city similar to Tarsis. The devastation fills the first panel. The central panel is a map of the interior of the Stone Dragon, noting its various levels as Head, Throat, Shrine, and Heart. To the right of the central panel, the carnage continues, but this time dragons of silver and gold rise up to fight the evil dragons, armed with dragonlances. Men on foot have smaller lances. In the final scene, the evil dragons are routed, but not without cost: Huma lies mortally wounded, cradled in the arms of a great silver dragon that sheds tears for his passing. Chance leads them past many rooms, most have been looted, but Vorimir Stoneaxe finds stone gold bricks in a room. He passes it over to Ragrim Shattershield who turns it around in his hands. “Gold paint. This is a brick of steel. They gather up the bricks stack them and load them into their packs. The bricks are worth 2000 stl each. They also each weigh 20 pounds. The Guardian of the Lances becomes animated and is stopped by the Silver Knight. Chance tells the Guardian that Bale is the bearer of the Silver Arm of Ergoth. “Show some respect.” The Guardian sees the arm and stands down back into place. Chance takes them through the Oaken doors down a very long spiraling staircase that eventually opens into a very large room. The room is quiet, as they enter the torches start to light as one approaches. Everything was cold and dark. They have lanterns they get lit and see five large furnaces that are dark as the rest of the hall. Chance is in dismay. The Furnaces are supposed to be always in operation. It is volcanic in nature. Ephraim Avery, the Priest of Sirrion takes a look. The mass of Ice pressing down on Ergoth for Forty years then, the sudden reduction of the Ice sheet has… he feels his God’s presence as they produce the spark necessary to get the furnaces back up and operating again. The Furnaces of Ergoth The Room soon radiates a warm red glow. They need to get the chimneys open to begin to work. Slade wants to make sure they are alone but promises not to go far. Bale walks around until he sees the Magnificat Anvil. Tongs lie to one side, but there is no hammer. An inscription winds around the base.
The inscription reads: With Silver Arm and Silver Pool And Hammer to forge Wrym’s doom Dragons hid these mighty tools The last True Pool lies in this room The Arm is lost to an unknown fate The Hammer lies past Dwarvengate Chance tells them “The anvil is made of meteoritic iron—star metal—and cannot be chipped or shattered. One Moment” Scales clatter on the floor. Chances tells it “Go home!” It disappears back to the Dome of Creation. Chase has them look at what substance they will be using. The Dwarves and the Preist of Sirrion walk over and look at the swirling pool. Pool of Dragonmetal Within a great well near the back of this alcove is a pool of molten metal, cool to the touch. It is the last known pure source of dragonmetal on Krynn, the only substance that can forge the Dragonlance. The material can be used to forge other magical weapons and armor, but only Dragonlance has special properties against dragons. Bale asks Chance “Do you know how to make a Dragonlance?” The Silver Dragon says he does not, but he points to the arm, and says, “it knows.” Slade comes back and says it seems like they are alone. Torin says I think we are going to be here for a while, we are going to need provision in just under a week. So, we will have to worry about that. Slade, find us someplace around here we can sleep nearby. Vorimir Stoneaxe and Ragrim Shattershield come over to Bale and tell him they will help him with whatever he needs. Bale says, “then let’s get to work.”

Chosen of Reorx Book II Chapter Eight: Friends Southwest Ansalon Southern Ergoth Foghaven Vale The Heart Chamber of the Stone Dragon, Hammer strike after hammer strike, they turn the lance over and the hammer comes down. Vorimir Stoneaxe is startled when he sees two strangers. He gets Shattershield and Bale’s attention and points to the newcomers. Bale stops and takes in the sight. He knew soot was on his face, sweat drenched his undershirt, but before him was one of the most exotically beautiful women he had ever seen. He assumes she must be a Wild Elf has her wardrobe is less than a normal High elf would wear. Her most striking features and silver hair. Her partner is a High Elf, Bale would guess Qualinesti by the hair color. Hair color… Chase has Silver Hair as well. He looks back at the wild elf. Silvara D’argent had been upset to find the dwarves at first, Chase was supposed to be guarding the Valley. Who are these dwarves and what are they doing? She then sees that the Blacksmith wears the silver arm of peace. Suddenly she is filled with renewed feelings of purpose and it brings healing to her soul. The last several years have been a climb back to sanity and reason. She can’t even say his name, The White (Dragon) almost took her… but this… Silavra just walks up to the Dwarf and kisses him on his cheek. She says, “Be at peace, my friend. What is your name?” Uh, uh…B..Bale. He feels like he was lucky to remember that fact. Who are your friends? The Silver-haired Elf asked Vorimir mummles out “….Vor..imir…Stone…axe.” Ragrim is stunned by her beauty like the rest of them, “Ra..grim Shatter…shield your grace.” He bows. To her, but he is quite sure what brought him to do it. Silvera smiles for what feels like the first time in a long time, “this is my life partner Gilthanas Kanan. Giilthanas, these are my new friends Bale, Vorimir, and Ragrim.” The Elf she came in with is about 5’8” and 120 lbs. He carries himself as one of noble blood. Blonde of hair. Bale thinks he heard of a Gilthas Kanan, and Bale asks him about it. Gilthanas keeps the bitterness from his face. It was not his nephew’s fault all this came to pass; he just thinks of the Silvanesti prison that consumed part of his life and for what? Nothing That was not Gil’s fault, nor was it his fault when he was put up as the Puppet King. Still, Gilthanas keeps the bitterness from his face. He thinks about his brother’s stolen Speakership and the destruction that has wrought his brother’s soul. Only held up by spite. Gilthanas could identify with that statement. He thinks of his poor sister, and her terrible, heartbreaking death. Some sorrow creeps into his face, but he soon masks tats well. He answers “I am humbled by the thought and gesture that my dear sister and my old “friend” named him in my honor. Can I ask you, friend, what brings you here, for what reason are you making lances? Bale answers that “a Cleric of Reorx found him, told him he had been chosen to wear the arm then we gathered a company to come here and retrieve the Arm, we fought the Grey Wraith, but since then three of our numbers. Our brothers were cut down on the way from the Elderwood on the way here. We paid the toll on the way here. As to why and for what, I don’t know, only that it was important to Reorx, and that made it good enough for me, and my company.” Silvra says she is so sorry for their loss. She asks if there is any more with them and the Dwarves answer that a few of their numbers and Chase went to Castle Eastwatch to get food and supplies. Soon, Chase, Torin Slade, Ephraim Avery, and Chase (silver) return with wagons of supplies, including saddle seats for the Dragonriders, and Solamnic Knights from Castle Eastwatch. Torin had talked to Lord Efram uth Tromar about bringing in more dwarf manpower, if they have assistance, they get the lifts working again and clear the rubble from the passages. Won’t be till next Summer that we can get the people to do it, but we will, we will get this Monument operational again, as a church, and the heart of Goodness for the people of the future. Chase makes the introductions. Silvra is very interested in talking to Torin, but Torin has no inside information about why, just Reorx asked him to. Just leaves her more curious than ever. What was going on? Torin brings out some food and wine for them to share for a short rest before the Dwarves are back to work. They come to know each other better over the meal and in talking as the flames of the fireplaces and the light from the forge dance the shadows on the walls behind them.
