Dark Witch
Kalana Hiewind
By The DM
The Tragic tale of Kalana Hiewind did not end with the War of Souls. She entered the service of the One God and got her magic returned to her by the One God to serve in the Army of Mina.
Kalana was captured by the Amber eyes of Mina as was everyone else that served her. You would die for her, but something inside made her draw back, to keep some mind on your situation, and so the key started to burn inside you for freedom.
You were able to contact Karnea Dragonbane and give her secrets you had learned while in Mina’s service.
The Wizards Dalamar and Pain Majere came into contact with Mina at the Tower of Nightlund, formerly of Palanthas, moved here by Dalamar’s Magic.
They were slain by the might of the One God and their bodies animated and brought along on the trek to Sanction.
You broke the trance for small periods of time, enabling you to give Karnea secret information in the Endgame in Sanction. With Takhisis dead and the Gods of Magic returned, you are relieved beyond words. But you see that not all is forgiven.
Aftermath,
You are exiled from joining the other Black Robes at the new Tower of High Sorcery In Blood Sea with Dalamar and Karnea. Your relationship with Karnea is unresolved. You left the Tower of Shallsea and joined in with Mina, but you redeemed your life by providing crucial help in Takhisis’s defeat and Mina’s downfall.
You are given a Laboratory at the cursed Skullcap, but you have a home in Tarsis.
You are untrusted by everyone, a Dark Silvanesti witch that live on the fringe with the Orders of High Sorcery.
The School of the Dark Arts
One day you are visited by one of your strained order, his name is Baran Ragazi of Khur. He explains that he has until just recently taught at a school in Abanasina, and has left to start a school in Jotan. A small canal city of floating barges that are lashed together. It is there where he is opening a school of the Black Arts. He offers you a position as a teacher of the Dark Craft. Being in no position to decline, given your independent wealth is cut off, and in the end, it will be better for your relationship with Nuitari going forward.
There are thirty-seven students in the 2nd year of your tenure. You have a small but comfortable houseboat where you live and a Laboratory at the main school ring.
The Ring is the different barges connecting together to form the school. There are Four Barges, and all the students sleep and reside on the Ring proper.

Jotan:
This was one of the first cities built on the islands by the colonists. It weathered the destruction well, but after the Cataclysm, the city was forever changed. The waters of the harbor had slowly risen, in some places as high as the second floor of buildings in the town. People fled the lower floors of their homes, leaving the main floors submerged. Rather than moving completely, they simply began to travel throughout the flooded streets in rafts and barges, continuing with business as usual. At first, people built crude hovels on the red tile roofs of the shorter dwellings, but in time, they began to build new structures on them as well. Some took a different approach, opting instead to live on their barges, lashing them together to for stability. It has become known as the city of canals, a testament to the flexibility of people and their will to survive.
Now,
You are sitting in a watering hole called the Deep Inn. You have been teaching for nearly two years and you are getting back to who you are.
The lingering effects of Mina has done a number on your mind, and you can hear her thoughts sometimes, so you know that she lives.
You have watched Forty students come thru the school for teaching and though you never fancied being a teacher, you are a good one, but you grow wistful. You hear of all the happenings in the world and don’t know where your place is yet in this world repopulated with gods.
