Kalana goes back to her room at the Guild and thinks on what has happened today, especially the revelation that Mina is a God.
What does this mean? What it mean to your future, and the future plans of the Conclave?
Very disturbing.
The important thing is you know that you are in the graces of your god Nuitari again.
But how to accomplish this goal of the Three Wizards?
What is the angle.
You will have to find out the players on the scene, perhaps even the court and who has the ear of the Emperor. It would seem the current one is mostly above board, and does not evidently use dark magic, but would he tap that source if the need arose?
Who are the Enemies of the Empire, who else occupies Northern Ergoth?
What is this Undead problem they have? Where is it coming from?
Are there other Wizards in Ergoth? They would be connected to the Guild, what do they know that will help?
You also start thinking about the money and possessions that have stored in Tarsis and Joltan.

The next morning, Kalana will rise, and re-memorize her spells, with the exception of her seventh level spells. For these, she memorizes "teleport w/o error" twice. Then, going downstairs, she will find Velric. "I have spoken with a ranking member of the conclave. At this point, they wish me do aid you in "persuading" the local government in "allowing" us to build a tower here. I have recently acquired a position at the local Mage Wares Shop, which, coincidentally, happens to do some work for the Emperor. It will be thru this that I will try to reach the emperor's ear. BUT, in the mean time, I have some things that I need to attend to. I will return shortly." With this, Kalana will Tw/oE to her house in Joltan. Once there, she will go thru her personal items, to find things she might still need, and to see what is still there, and not there.

Kalana’s Holding in Joltan By the DM
Velric nods his head, “Master Willim came to see me yesterday afternoon, he told me as much. I am glad you are here and believe to will be of great help to us. I would like to see you when you return, I would tell you of what I know of the Imperial family and what we have done already to try to gain favor in the court. Also, Guild Master Fallon would like to speak to you, all when you return milady.”
Kalana agrees and departs via the spell Teleport without Error.
She arrives in her room in Joltan and goes thru her things from 17 months ago.
She finds:
Shadow Sack (Special Bag of Holding)
Spare Black Robes
Exotic Spell Components
Scroll of Darkness Upon opening this scroll, a vast blanket of darkness issues forth. The darkness engulfs everything within a 60-foot radius of the scroll of darkness. Sight, infravision, ultravision, and even true seeing cannot penetrate the black veil. However, the person grasping the scroll when opened retains normal vision, provided that he remains holding the scroll. The darkness lasts until the scroll is closed, upon which it disappears the round afterward. The scroll may be used 1-4 times before becoming useless.
Books of Poison, Alchemy and Potions
Book of the Path of Curses
Lantern
Fine Silvanesti Blanket
Fine Silvanesti Pillow
Underclothes
Quill of Transcribing This magical quill can only be used by magic users. Upon utterance of a suitable command word, a magic quill will write everything the user says, until he utters the command word again. The quill creates its own ink, but otherwise it acts as a normal quill. It will transcribe spoken spells onto spell books or scrolls using the correct magical ink. Its range is 20' but will write any and every word spoken even if the caster does not desire the words which are spoken (like a henchmen shouting for his master, or voices from another room) within the range.
Ring of Invisibility
Money Bags containing 800 Stl P or Steel Pieces Spare Magic Broomstick
Kalana sit down on her bed for a moment, going over each item, before opening her Shadow Sack, and placing the items inside. She then thinks for a moment of her time at the school and the its headmaster Baran Ragazi.

Kalana will pack up all her belongings in her sack except for the ring of invisibility. This she will put into the interior pocket of her robe. Then, making sure that she has everything she will need, she will exit the house, locking the door, and take a long last look at her "home". Don't know if I'll ever see this place again, but, from what Willim told me, I don't think I'll ever need it anymore. Leaving the place she has recently called home, Kalana will return to the school. Walking inside she will nod at students she recognizes, and walk to the offices of the headmaster, Baron Ragazi. Knocking on the door, she will wait for a reply.

Headmaster By the DM
After a few moments, the door opens, and a bare-chested Baran opens the door. He is barefoot, with loose fitting black breaches to his waist. The tan muscular Khurian seems surprised to see you and welcomes you in. He walks to a closet and retrieves a geb, (a lose fitting back robe from his homeland).
“Come in, come in Kalana. It brings me joy to see you again.” He pours two cups of tea and he motions for you to take a seat on the deck, over looking the central canal.
The two of you talk for an hour, first about Kalana’s new directive from the Conclave, then about the school. Twelve students graduate this spring to go to Wayreth to take their tests, more students coming in.
Finally he says, “Kalana, I know you came to the school because you had nowhere else to go…. I want to say thank you. The students in your classes reacted well to you, and you will be missed, but I am equally pleased that your case has been reversed and it seems with your fortunes. You deserve this, very much so.”

"Yes, I am once again in Nuitaris' graces. Thank the Brothers. Walking around lost in the world is no place I want to be again. I will thank you for your compassion during that time, and giving me a place to direct my energies. And, in that line of thought, I have come to a few decisions. Since, obviously, I will not be teaching here anymore, and I have things that must be taken care of far from here, I will no longer be needing my house. It is this reason why I will donate my house to the school." Holding up a hand to stop his comments, Kalana continues. "Under these conditions: 1. That the house is used either as a private residence for a single student or a dorm for students that are going to take their test at the end of the school term. 2. That prayers for guidance are offered up to Nuitari for guidance in which student is placed in the home. A black robe lived there, a black robe gave it to the school, and it only follows that one destined to wear black robes stay there again. 3. That if at anytime the house is no longer needed, it is sold, and the money is sent to me at Wayreth.
Do we have an accord?"

"Very well. As a parting gift, I give you this warning: Guard your students well, headmaster. While the world is rejoicing in the passing of the war, and putting all their attention into rebuilding what was lost, I believe that we are but enjoying the calm before the coming storm. Enemies not destroyed wait until their strength returns, then attack when all think things are well. New students that can be turned are an inexorable wellspring of resource. Watch carefully, as a herdsman watches over his flock, be wary, and vigilant." Turning to leave, Kalana heads for the door.

Kalana eats jumbo shrimp for dinner and then Tw/oE to Tarsis. She appears inside a circle that she drew a century before. It is dark until you speak the command word to for medium light. The room lights to a slow glow. You memorize the cantrip clean, and then cast the spell to clean the place from years of absence.
Kalana goes to her Library and decides what to bring. You are not clearing out your estate here, just picking up some things you need.
1st Level Living Room Dinner Room Maids Room Kitchen
2nd Level Bedroom Washroom Guest Room
Roof Alter of Nuitari
1st Sublevel Library Storage
2nd Sublevel Dark Wizards Laboratory

Now then, let's see..... a. Empty spell books b. Staff. Now where is that damn thing....there it is. c. money. Take a little bit more...200 steel. d. spell books. Taking these, she puts the steel in with the rest of her money, the empty spell books (5) and her own spell books into her shadow bag, and then returns to the room she first came in. Putting her staff against the table, she will re memorize Tw/oE, pick up her staff, and make the journey back to Gwynned, just on the outskirts of the city. Once there, she will return to the guild hall. Walking in, she will go upstairs to her room, place her sack and her staff on the bed, and go back downstairs, looking for Velric.

Kalana arrives back to Gwynned, and goes to Velric, the Head of the lack Robes of the Imperial City.
“Ah, Kalana, you are back , I hope all went well. He hands over a scroll case. Inside this case is a listing of the family ties of the current Emperor Mercadior Redic VI. Information on his daughter, a Cleric of Mishakal. The Emperor’s cousins and family members that are in the court. There is one we are interested in as it seems she has a very serious magical benefactor that we have not been able to identify, but it is of a Dark Magic nature. Her name is Anne and she is a power player of some stature.”

If it is not Him, then, the only other one that I know of that it might be is....that BITCH. Have you given me the chance to be an instrument in destroying her? Or am I jumping to conclusions? Taking a deep breath, Kalana will steady herself, and focus her mind. Looking back at Velric, she says "And do we have a clue as to the possible source of this Anne's dark magic?"

Extreme Caution. You see, if my hunches prove to be true, then our foe is dangerous indeed, and even the agents are in danger, for this foe will not destroy them, but turn them, and make them her own. Time Passes By the DM
Kalana spends this night at the Guild, but resolves to find someplace else as soon as possible. Kalana goes to her new job and sets about carving her niche. The other Tower Mages in the Merchant house are intrigued by you, and you catch them looking at you with curious eyes at different times. You don’t know if they have heard something bad about you, or that you a Black Robe that they are not used to dealing with, or that you are elven and black robe, not matter, you try to avoid their gazes and get about your work. You study up on the Imperial Family Tree, and find the deaths of a couple of the Imperial Family to be direct or indirect succession related. You are sure this has been picked up by others, but it means somebody has a plan. Somebody has made a calculation.
Leland, the Brown Robe owner of the Mage War Shop comes to you, “Uh, there has been a report of Skeletons rising in the Kelron Cemetery. This is the kind of thing I was speaking of before, this has been happing a lot in the last few years. We can make some money off of this, but only if you are interested.”

Eerie Deadeye By the DM
You board the modest carriage just as the Sun dips below the horizon. Leland takes the reins and the horses pull the carriage thru the city. The journey takes 40 minutes to get to the edge of the Capital where a high wall keeps invaders out. There are small towns that have sprung up around the Capital over the centuries. The Carriage comes to a stop, and village people gather. Kalana climbs down just as Leland gets to the door and offers his hand, but you posses Elven grace and can do this with your eyes closed.
Fog has settled on the ground making for an eerie panorama of fields and a few trees.
Not far is the Kelron Cemetery.
The onlookers are frightened of you, in your black robes, but they are scared more of the undead that have plagued them for the last seven summers.
Coming from the crowd of onlookers is a small man in a grey cloak…wait a moment… he has a staff … but… but…
“Hullo Leland” says the man.
“Hello Deadeye. Let me introduce you to Mistress Kalana” Deadeye is a friggin Kender. Wonderful.
“Hope she lasts longer then the last Necromancer you hired Leland, no offense Mistress, but it kina went bad for him… yeah…very bad.”
Leland explains, “Deadeye is here doing what he can to help. He’s from Hylo and has some strange Necromantic power thru the Mystic Arts. They had a huge undead problem there a couple of years ago, Dead Eye here tapped that down, he was hired to try to help here, but so far….”
Deadeye takes over “…So Far it has amounted to a pile of beans. These undead are willful and definitely have a master that has emboldened them. First name’s Eerie by the way.” He holds out his hand to shake.
This Kender is indeed very strange. You remember Dalamar saying something years and years ago about something called Nightshade Kender. A recent phenomenon that started with the appearance of the Mystics on Schallsea, this could be the situation now.

Turning to Deadeye, Kalana shakes his hand. "A kender that uses magic, now I've seen everything. No offense, master Deadeye, but you really are an anomaly." Turning to look ahead toward the graveyard Kalana continues "I would indeed hope that I would last longer than the "last" necromancer, otherwise I would quite disappoint my last master. You may know of her, Karnea Dragonbane? She would be quite put out with me if she found that she wasted her time training me just to hear that I got myself killed. As far as these undead are concerned, if control of them can't be wrestled away from their master, then there is only one course of action left, and that will be to destroy them outright, using any means necessary."

By the DM
“Its not magic per say of say, I don’t go to the towers of High Sorcery, Mystical powers are kinda different from even faithful clerics, though I believe in the gods. I can do things to the undead, make them turn, and can talk to them, not much more though. And no, I never heard of her, is she really infamous?”
Leland gestures the way to the Cemetery.
The three walk into the fields outside of the village and walk into the fog.
You begin to see tombstones, some greater then others. Some really old, but a vast number of graves are here, 1,300 at least.
In the distance, there are walking skeletons and a few zombies.

Undead are climbing out of their misty caskets, their numbers rising. Skeletons, Ghouls and Zombies, all moving from their graves, into the world beyond.
There are at least fifteen of them, scattered into groups of twos and threes.
