Feb 1, 2003
Looking at his human-appearing companion, Dougan says, "The problem with these dragons is that they fly too damned fast for our warwagon crews to aim at them properly. But, I have a plan to alleviate that. 1st Regiment has a total of 1,792 warwagons, all equipped with medium ballistae. Now, they can only be elevated to 45 degrees, but with proper siting that can be increased to 60 degrees. What I propose is that the next time one of those damnable lizards flies over, we have a volley of 896 ballista bolts in the air to greet it. If that doesn't do the trick, then the next volley of 896 goes up while the first group reloads. One of them has got to hit, and that'll shake their confidence. If we manage to kill the beast, even better. Matter of fact, if they lose a dragon, they may think twice about sending another one. "Now, as soon as Joan reports that the 1st ACR has recieved the antidote, they are going to push on Wolfgaard and bring it down. 3rd ACR is standing by to assist is need be, and then 1st Armored Division is going to make Wolfgaard their command post, with 2nd Armored Regiment providing area security. "I'm also concerned about our boys up in Solace. I want the Navy to assist with moving more units up there....maybe send the 374th Archery Brigade to reinforce the 382nd." Looking to his XO, he says, "Redgar, I want you to go up there and meet with the locals and tell them we're on their side. If need be, we can post all of the 3rd Infantry Division at Solace. "Finally, I need further verification that the town of New Ports is enemy-free. If we find out that it is, I want to send 2nd Mobile Infantry there to hold the town and surrounding environs against any enemy movements out of Qualinesti. "Maximus, 2nd Light Infantry from the 3rd Army is all yours. Post 'em where you need them, but I want all of our troops off the Spelljammers and on the ground ASAP. I don't like the reports Navy's been giving me about what's going on in orbit. "I'm going up to 1st Armored Division's HQ to talk to the boys there. Forward all message traffic there until I return. Let's get to it."
Redgar will leave H.Q. and grab 2 messengers. "You" he will point to the first "take this message to the commander of 2nd Special Forces Brigade......I want a squad sent to New Ports. Recon ONLY...make SURE that is understood. I want to know if any enemy forces are left there. If SO, then I want numbers, movement cycles, and routes of any supply lines that they might have. I will want THAT particular info A.S.A.P. But make damn sure they understand that under NO circumstances are they to engage the enemy, nor let the enemy know of their presence in the area. Once they got the intel I want, tell them to hot foot it back here, and either tell me or General Granitehammer directly. No couriers, no messengers. Now then, if NOT, and they better be damned sure about it, then I want them to get in contact with 2nd Mobil Inf. and tell them to get off their duffs and take position in that town, securing the town, and a surrounding area of a 3 mile radius. Once 2nd Mobil takes the town, I want word immediatly if not sooner. Got all that?" Redgar will wait for the messenger to repeat it all back to him correctly. "Good, now get at it." "And you," he points to the second messenger "I want you to go to the commander of 3rd Inf Division, and tell him to get his ass to Solace. Tell him that I am on my way, and he better be there when I get there, or I will put my boot in 'is ass when he does arrive. Got it?" Once again, Redgar will listen to the messenger repeat every word back to him. "Good, now you get at it too." With this done, he will make ready to leave, giving his messengers a little bit of a headstart, then leave himself for Solace.
Feb 22, 2003 Happenings in the Winter Campaign of the Wolverines: In the Central Region, The 251st Light Infantry Brigade, the 241st Elven Ranger Brigade, the 242nd Ranger Brigade and the 264th Mobile Infantry Brigade mobilize, and head south from Basecamp Marika. This complement totals 20,000 troops. They are on the move, and they are led by Lt. General Elisabeta Srivastava-Hjortarian's X.O. Troops remaining at Camp Marika, are: 2nd Light Infantry Division 4th Ranger Regiment 244th Elven Ranger Brigade 5th Light Infantry Regiment 252nd Archery Brigade 253rd Elven Infantry Brigade 254th Light Infantry Brigade 6th Mobile Infantry Regiment 261st Mobile Infantry Brigade 262nd Mounted Archery Brigade ---------------- Gateway, 1st Division H.Q., The Guard returns to you Dougan, and says he can’t find Col. Arbagon, but he will continue to look. Lots of clouds up there tonight, gray ones. At 3rd ACR, Lady Joan, and Nebriss arrive, and begin the inoculations of 2nd ACR, will take all night. ---------------- At NORCOMM, General Redgar receives the local weather report from Intel staff. 6-10 Blizzards a year, moist air from the straits of Schallsea mixes with the bitter cold air from the mountains to create massive snowfalls. 7 tenths of precipitation added to the mix. Pass between Solace and Haven completely closes the road between the two towns. 44 to 30 degrees average temp. The effects from Southern Ergoth, which by the way, a White Dragon Overlord rules, has changed the lands of his island, which affects the snowfall here, making it worse.
March 3, 2003
Qualinesti-
“Lord Beryl wants a explanation right now. Why did you countermand her order for the Blues to attack the Wolverine Forces!?!” Major Vorkov demands to the Qualinesti Commander.
Marshal Medan shifts in his seat, only to reach for his North Keep whiskey. “ As you are aware Major, I serve the wishes of my Lord of Night. I will remind you; since it is possible you overlooked the protocols of the Knight of Neraka charter pertaining to special Occupation standing orders. Any request for aid, involving the use of Blue Dragons, loyal to the service of the Lord of Night, must be made to the Lord of Night in Jelek. I have sent a Dragon Rider to the Lord of Night, and have yet to receive a reply. I included in my message to Lord Targonne that he was left out of the loop by you and so I feel perhaps it is you that should be a little worried. No authorization from Jelek, my Dragons don’t fly.”
--------------------- The first attack comes 10:00pm. Elements from 3rd, 4th and 5th Wings begin their mission. Each Wing is divided into 5 units of 8 making 44
The eight from unit 3 of the 5th wing move from the north as silently as they can as they near their target zone. They have waited until the single moon was dark, to move in.
A lone elf on patrol in the NORCOMM area of operations hears the slight sound of flapping noises; she looks up, and sees nothing, her Infravision not picking up the heat signatures of the cold bloodied beasts. She is alarmed enough to return to her squad leader, and report a sense of fear and dread.
Sthinissh directs her unit to where the Kapak scouts said the enemy would be, they glide in, and when near enough to the clusters of troops, they administer their deadly noxious gas.
DragonFear overcomes many units of the 384th and the 374th, and the Chorine Gas hits them the hardest, as they are gassed repeatedly by the Green Dragons. Archers try to hold still, and fire at the undersides of the great beasts, but few ever hit their mark.
There is disarray in the ranks, and the troops gag for fresh air.
---------------
Meanwhile, in the South, advancing Wolverine Infantry units from the 3rd Army feel DragonFear sweep over them and they look up, but barley glimpse the aerial flight of:
Unit 1, 3rd Red Wing-
Infernus Tyberion (Red) Blood Gem (red) Flame Searclaw (red) Andorung (red) Hekhorath (Red) Plus 2 more Reds
They are on Camp Marika within Minutes. The Aerial Scouts of the Air Wing don’t have time to warn those below, but some attack with all their might, while the others fly straight to Gateway.
The Reds close on the camp, and lay their flame attacks on the Wolverine Base camp. General Hjortarian you see the Reds lay down their fiery barrage on their first pass. Rage boils up inside of you. Will this be the final battle? If it is to be, so be it.
------------ At the forward basecamp of the 2nd and 3rd ACR’s near Wolfgaard, forward scouts notice some increased activity at the stronghold. Sgt. Kellan sends runners back to inform Command. His attention is diverted upwards for some reason, like he saw something . . . moving . . .
From the gray clouds above, flights of Black shapes drop below cloud cover . . . Dragons! The Sgt. sends a runner immediately to report. The Blacks shoot down to attack range, and bears in on The ACR’s. Acid rains down onto the unsuspecting troops. Lady Joan and Nebriss hear the screams from the multitudes of acid burn victims.
Several more passes are made by the Black flights, hundreds of troops are affected by the Acid attacks.
Several minutes pass after the last attack, and Joan and Nebriss venture from the protective rocks. They had been spattered too, but not hurt badly. All wonder if that is all. Masses of dark figures bleed from the gray clouds. Their wings spread open at the lat moment to slow their decent. The 13th Draconian Airborne has been delivered to the Combat zone. Sixty-four troops close to meet the enemy. Officers and Sgts’s try to organize the troops, to mount a counter attack. Archers are readied, and fire with some accuracy. Several Draconians are taken down. Sixty-four more Airborne troops drop from the sky. Several are intercepted by Wolverine Air Scouts, but many more make it to the ground.
The South Doors open at Wolfgaard, and hundreds of Goblins pour forth, and head south, screaming in battle rage, to back up the Draconian Airborne.
The First Black flight returns to Twin Peaks and picks up the next airborne detachment. The second flight strafes with acid the 3rd ACR.
At the 2nd ACR base, Col. Sonah looks on in horror at her troops being cut down. She drafts a quick message, and sends out her runners to her 3rd ACR counterpart.
--------------
At Gateway, H.Q. of the 1st Division
General Granitehammer, you are stealing a hour of shuteye, but 33 minutes into nap time, your J-2 comes in, and stands a safe distance from you, and says, “General, there are Dragon Attacks in progress at camp Marika.”
“He waits for the General to sit up, then continues. “Two Air Scouts just landed to report, but we can see the attacks from here.” He directs you to the window, from your bedroom window; you can see multiple flame attacks, perhaps as many as ten distinct flame trails.
----------------
The Infantry units from the 3rd Army look back at their command base, and see it erupt in flames. They want to help, but against Dragons, the Infantry can only watch from the ground as their comrades from another world fight and die.
The forward scouts keep their mind on the job, and look ahead, only to see hundreds of Goblin troops emerge from the Qualinesti forest, with a mind to kill. The Scouts are quickly overrun, and the combined ground forces from Haven bare on the southward moving units from the 3rd Army.
Lord Oztaz looks out across the Solace vale, seeing the night be lit up by distant fire. The Wolverines are doomed, but they are to proud to even see it come. The end is near for them, be it this winter, or the coming spring, it does not matter. The Primal force of nature, the first children of the Gods have been summoned, Dragons.

March 17, 2003
Wolverine Campaign
Over the course of the next 10 minutes, all air riders head to their mounts, and try to take off. In one brilliant explosion of fire, The Red Dragon, Andorung exhales a mighty burst of superheated fiery breath onto one of the Ptarron Corrals. Several soldiers and mounts erupt in flames before they can deploy.
Wings from the Sky Raiders, the Wind Striders, the Star Runners, and the Night Stalkers all make it to the skies, and they try to zero in on their Draco attackers.
The Ballista Batteries fire their giant bolts to the sky, hoping to hit a moving enemy, but they have no joy.
A Guttural command in Chromatic is issued, and the Reds begin to peel off their attack, and start to move southwest.
Like mad hornets, disturbed from their hive, the Air Wings of 1st Regiment is up in force, and trying to kill their opponents, but ending up only stinging them.
General Hjortarian is not about to let the Reds go without exacting some vengeance. He tears into an unsuspecting red, causing the red to shout out in pain. The other reds see this going on, and try to get a clear view, thru the buzzing hornets of the Air Wings. The Dragon is unlike any they have seen before. Its smell is alien, and he is perceived as a major threat.
Tyberion defies Infernus’s orders, and departs to the north, perhaps to flank the unknown dragon. He is run away from the battle by angry Star Runners. 1st Division’s hungry Anti-Air battery catches him by surprise, and down the Red beast in a hail of 896-war wagon bolts. The men cheer their success as the red beast slams down to the ground, crushing unsuspecting ground units. Wolverine infantry rush out to kill the beast as Tyberion lets out his final defiant flame burst, killing 40 more Wolverines.
Infernus has underestimated the Wolverine Air Forces, and he would make that mistake again. The greens would be coming soon, and that is when he would make this Steel pay.
Blood Gem disobeys orders and goes to help her friend in the battle against the Red. She falls victim to Maximus’s sleep breath weapon, causing her to grow feeble in thought, and begin to careen down to the ground.
-------------------
At NORCOM, The commanders work to get their troops back into line. The Green Dragons that has made several gas attacks over the last 30 minutes have been flying over the trenches, letting their dragonfear seep into the consciences of the Wolverines. Volleys of Arrows and bolts have been shot into the air, but the Dragons are staying just above effective range of those weapons. All commanders have reported in that all forces of the north are in defensive mode, and waiting for an attack from the east of west.
Casualty Report comes in, 112 dead, 341 wounded with repertory injuries. It is unknown if they will be back to duty, let alone when.
--------------------
At Gateway, 1st Div is making ready to move north, to support 2nd ACR and 3rd ACR.
1st Div. consists of: 1st Armored Division 112th Heavy Shock Cavalry 113th War wagon Brigade 114th Heavy Shock Cavalry 121st War wagon Brigade 122nd Heavy War wagon Brigade 123rd Heavy War wagon Brigade 124th War wagon Brigade 131st Elephant Cavalry 132nd Heavy Shock Cavalry 133rd Heavy Shock Cavalry 2nd Mobile Infantry Division 4th Mobile Infantry Regiment 241st Infantry Brigade 242nd Infantry Brigade 243rd Archery Brigade 244th Infantry Brigade 5th Mounted Archery Regiment 251st Dwarven Mounted Crossbows 252nd Elven Mounted Archers 253rd Elven Mounted Archers 254th Mounted Archers 6th Light Cavalry Regiment 261st Light Lancers 262nd Light Lancers 263rd Cavaliers 264th Elven Lancers With the 111th and 134th War wagon Brigades is Air-Defense against Dragon attacks.
General Trotta and his Intel officers report to General Granitehammer.
Report comes in from the 2nd and 3rd ACR; The Goblins have broken out of Wolfgaard. 17, 000 strong. They will reach us before you get this report. Be advised, Draconic Airborne troops being deployed via Black dragons. We have been hit by multiple Black Dragon attacks; they are raining Acid down upon us.
Stout hearts to you my Lord,
Col. Sonah, 2nd ACR
-------------------------
Airmobile scouts notice massive goblin raiders are attacking the southern forces attached to General Hjortarian. Scout report to the ground deck officer of the occurrence.
General Hjortarian is still fighting the Dragon high above known as Flametongue.
The 2nd Wave of Dragon makes their attack-
As the reds depart the battlefield, minus two three dragons they had before, the 4th Green Wing comes on scene, led by Sthenn. Verden Leafglow (green) Aerensianic/Aeren (green) Toxyria/Toxy (green) Plus 4 more greens
They assess the situation, and immediately are set upon by Wolverine Air Forces. Clouds of noxious fumes are breathed out by the Greens, and in by the attacking Ptarron crews. Several whole wings drop to the deck, unable to regain control. Greek fire is broken unto the hides of the Greens, causing them pain. They are attacked with all the might of the Air Force, and another dragon is taken to the ground.
Flametongue is a viscous warrior, and you start to think for moments that you are not going to make it thru this battle. The both of limb back to your respective bases.
Maximus, when you land, you find out that your southward units are engaged in battle with superior goblin numbers. You also find out that you have lost 322 Mounts and drivers.
March 29, 2003
Last Night was the Dragon Attack.
Prelude Outside of Wolfgaard, wolverine Special Forces unit Dagger observes the war zone. They do not see any Dark Knights, but are honing in on Goblin leaders.
End of Prelude
It is predawn on a chilly morning at Gateway, 1st Division temporary command post. 1st Division General Ellis reports that the forces are all alerted to Invasion orders and they await General Granitehammer’s orders to start the drive north.
1st Division 131st Elephant Cavalry 132nd Heavy Shock Cavalry 133rd Heavy Shock Cavalry 2nd Mobile Infantry Division 241st Infantry Brigade 242nd Infantry Brigade 4th Mobile Army 244th Infantry Brigade 5th Mounted Archery Regiment 251st Dwarven Mounted Crossbows 254th Mounted Archers 6th Light Cavalry Regiment 261st Light Lancers 262nd Light Lancers 263rd Cavaliers 264th Elven Lancers
A Red Dragon was shot down last night by the warwagon Anti Air emplacements.
Lt. Col. Romulo Cordovillo, Granitehammer's J-2 (Chief Intelligence Officer) (Human Male-NPC) Reports that the 2nd and 3rd ACR’s engage in furious battle with a goblin division from Wolfgaard. The Airborne Draconian troops have continued to drop in, and meet the Wolverines with unconventional tactics.
Black Dragons continue to fly air-to-ground combat missions in support of the ground offensive thru the night.
-Col. Joben Manus-Granitehammer's J-3 (Chief Operations Planning Officer) (Human Male-NPC) Reports that the 112th Heavy Shock Cavalry 113th War wagon Brigade 114th Heavy Shock Cavalry 121st War wagon Brigade 122nd Heavy War wagon Brigade 123rd Heavy War wagon Brigade 124th War wagon Brigade 252nd Elven Mounted Archers 253rd Elven Mounted Archers and the 243rd Archery Brigade are all in the front of the spearhead into the combat zone. Aerial reconnaissance is in the air now, and we will get a report in the mid morning concerning the war zone.
Real Time, North, at the Battleground of the 2nd and 3rd Armored Core Regiments.
A horn blows near the fighting at Wolfgaard; the goblins pull back from the fighting. A second horn sounds moments later; an explosion rocks the mountain above the battleground. Doomed wolverines look up to see boulders gaining top velocity before crashing down on series of troops. Bones break, and splinter, on both man and animal. Skulls are crushed in their helmets, as others run out of the way. After the boulders come to rest, wails of pain come from around the wrecked battlefield.
Outside of Solace, The bulk of the 6th goblin horde from Wolfgaard travel north and west, and slam right into 3rd Infantry guarding Solace. Knights of Solamnia forward Security force draw their swords; the sword knight commander bids his squire to return to the command post and tell them what is coming on the south flank.
The Knights fight bravely, but are overwhelmed by sheer numbers with polearms.
The Special Forces Slayer unit was on a southern forward observation post mission. It is not known as to where their whereabouts are now.
A short time later, J-3, Major Haring reports The Horde has broken out of Wolfgaard, and is now traveling the Have Road. They are either headed to Solace itself, or towards us, or . . . they are trying to retreat back to Haven lines. We do not have any Intel to back that up, but the latter is what is in my gut. This is a desperate ploy; Beryl wants the taxes that are generated from Solace. She wants that intact. The Goblin force is extremely buff, but not enough to take us on head to head. They are going to try to this to marry up with the goblin forces of Haven. We happen to be in the middle of stopping them from doing that.
The Knights have Solace defended anyhow, but they will need our help to keep it. The 382nd and the 243rd is backing up Solace secured at Ground Zero.
The 384th have the eastern flank of Have Road secured.
The 374th has the western flank closed and covered.
Fighting in the north has ended, and 5th Platoon is now sweeping the west woods flank for hostiles.
Col. Silverleaf and General Derlin listen in on the developments of the past 12 hours.
Elsewhere, in the northern Que-Shu boarder lands Units of the 243rd arrive to the border to see renegade tribesmen run wolverine soldiers out of their territory. The barbarians forbid any more trespassing in their lands, effectively closing the northwest corner of the Solace Peaks.
In the south, units consisting of the 242nd Ranger Brigade, 251st Light Infantry Brigade, 264th Mobile Infantry Brigade and the 244th Elven Ranger Brigade, who has taken the point on a mission to guard the southwestern flank. They witnessed the Dragon attack on camp Marika, and fought a battle with a goblin horde thru the night. With dawn approaching, the goblins pulled back, and retuned to the elven woods.
-Major General Maximus Hjortarian has head the casualty report. It sickens him to think about it. His own wounds will heal, and will not restrict his flight capabilities, except for long durations in the air. Your forces acted with the highest bit of skill, and bravery last night. We fought them back, and took them on, but it is still a defeat because no one saw it coming. Perimeter patrols saw it at the last moment, and could not get back here in time to warn the rest of us.
-Lt. General Mitul Parikh-Hjortarian's J-3, Intelligence officer reports that their was a skirmish with the southern flankers on the northern banks of the White-Rage River. Heavy goblin army regulars, perhaps from Haven. Scouts report that battle has ended here at dawn.
-Lt. Col. Ismenia Castros-Hjortarian's J-2, operations planner reports her feelings on the matter. 1st Div. is going to push into Wolfgaard. They will control Gateway to the northwest side of Solace where General Rockglade is based. They are calling Air Support; they got gassed last night by green Dragons.
The southern sector is our A.O. That means Camp Marika here, on the southern flank of Gateway. We now have forces near the White Rage in the south near Qualinesti. And we have the supply trains going to come out of New Ports headed north. We are the only forces in the Southern Theatre, and the goblin army from Qualinesti could be big problems for us in the coming days and months.
-X.O. Lt. General Elisabeta Srivastava listens to the reports, adding only the state of the forces. They are shaken by the suddenness of the dragon attack. But they want to be more ready when the next attack comes.
V Corps (Lighting Core) 2nd Light Infantry Division 4th Ranger Regiment 241st Elven Ranger Brigade (Airborne) 5th Light Infantry Regiment 252nd Archery Brigade 253rd Elven Infantry Brigade 254th Light Infantry Brigade 6th Mobile Infantry Regiment 261st Mobile Infantry Brigade 262nd Mounted Archery Brigade
At New Ports, the 2nd Mobile Infantry Regiment guards the Port where supplies from the grounded spelljammer navy who are unloading supplies at the moment. No enemy contact for 35 hours.

March 31, 2003
Real Time
At the battleground of the 2nd and 3rd ACR. The Regiments are trying to regroup after the landslide brought boulders onto the battlefield. Medics are out, trying to help those that can live, the soldiers are out trying to help, and there are forward forces to cover the north flank. Col. Sonah tries to steel the forces up, in case there is another attack from somewhere.
The day passes in paranoid peace, just wondering what will happen next.
The Air Force is out, covering the recovery efforts. There is shouting up above, and the riders head to the west over Darken Wood. Minutes later, a red dragon flies over the battlefield, and drops a series of canisters all connected together, but as they fall, they separate, and crash onto the ground, against rocks, and even hitting a few wolverines in the head or face. What emerge from these canisters are various Slimes, and Oozes.
Several Green Slimes, Gray Ooze, Crystal Ooze entities move along the ground, capable of dissolving wood, flesh, metals, and different kinds have different immunities, such as some are immune to acid, cold, and fire, others are immune to magic, or lightning.
The Green slime converts organic matter into green slime. To touch these oozes or slimes, is nearly fatal, and maddening.
The red dragon does not hang around; already the Wolverine air forces are heading toward him. He flies back over Darken Wood and to the south.
In the North, at midday, The Dragons are back, this time 16 Reds, and 10 Greens. All know their mission and their targets. The Wolverines on Haven Road are fair game. Anyone on the road, or too close to the road’s flank is gassed, or burned. Salvos go into the air from the wolverine archers, with limited success.
Chief Scout of the Black Brood, Sangis hides out of view, and monitors the 3rd Army.
------------------
The Commander of the 6th Goblin Horde, General Galzin looks thru the field glass at the opposing forces blocking their path. He looks back over his forces, and wonders if it can be done. Major Yareal, Goblin inner circle officer offers, “ If Lord Ortaz says this is the way to take, then we have to trust him. I know he is a Draconian, but we are the 6th Horde, we have done what no other force has done. We retreat now, we get stronger, we come back when it is our time.”
------------ Hobgoblin Major Dallik, head of the 1st Goblin Division readies his forces to hit the Solamnics with everything he has, to provide the hole for General Halkk’s troops.
-----------
The Bozak, Major Glock, reads over the latest orders from Lord Ortaz, then pens letter onto a scroll parchment in Solamnic tongue.
To the Lord Commander of the Solamnic presence in Solace,
We have the means to destroy Solace utterly. Should Solamnic, or Wolverine attack the Forces of Beryllinthranox on Haven Road, we will follow thru with those before mentioned means. I will need your word of Honor within by Sundown, where we will parlay at Solace Bridge, where you may bring five protectors with your representative. You must promise that the Wolverines will abide to these terms or the deal is off.
Major Glock, Draconian Military Advisor of Beryllinthranox the Green Overlord of Abanasinia
-------------
General Halkk, the 2nd in Command of the Horde, maneuvers his forces to make the vanguard punch into wolverine lines. He notifies Goblin frontline Commander, Captain Caul, that he will lead the spear point into Wolverine lines on Haven Road. Captain Nass will cover the next wave.
Caul goes to his Hobgoblin War Sgt, 1st Sgt. Kellth, and breaks the news.
“We will have the pole arms go in first, use the worg riders to block for them, and use our Archers soften the right flank. We fought to win Wolfgaard, we fight to live now.”
--------------
At Haven, Knight of the Lily Lord Darrat, looks over the latest Intel data. He issues the appropriate orders to his Garrison, and troops are moved out.
-------------
At an undisclosed location near Qualinesti,
Infernas lays in thought over the last night’s battle. He knows dragons were lost, and not as much damage was inflicted. The Air Forces have to be taken out somehow, lessen the power of these Air Wolverines.
--------------
The Twin Peaks Stronghold
Lord Ortaz, looks out from his balcony, over the region that he is quickly losing grasp over.
The Aurak ponders the outcome of Galzin’s next fight, and what that will mean though the coming months.
Doctor Zark returned from his forward stint with the 6th Horde, having only arrived last night on a Wyvern. He is anxious to work on some new discoveries, and leaves for his Lab.
---------------
Near Twin Peaks, on Haven Road Captain Kazak, leader of the 23rd battle group of the Black Brood lines up his enemy his crosshairs. When the order is given, he will plow into the western lines of the Wolverines at Solace.
April1, 2003
“Sir, we don’t want any problems from you. This city is now under the control of the Wolverine Army. We don’t want any trouble, but you will have to register these weapons with the Base Commander. I will take you to him. Corporal, take command here. Gentlemen, please follow me.”
The Lt. mounts his horse, and leads you through the town you haven’t seen in nearly forty years. The Dark Knights built a Military Fortress during their occupation. Shotty workmanship too. Typical human structure.
The Wolverines have taken over the base, and is now using it as their Command Post.
15 complaint filled minutes later, the weapons are registered, and the hariquin fool questions are over.
The Minotaurs wrecked the town. They occupied the town for forty years, out of spite to the elf Damara. Some fiasco involving the Kender, making life hell for them, as they followed along with his tales. Doorknobs, that’s what they are. Got a price on their heads, and it got my bar taken away. You dread to look as you and Hilltaker round the bend. It’s gone. Burned down, just recently too those bastards.
Spite I tell you.
The Burned Griffin more like it.
Roasted.
Skool looks up at you, and hugs you tight. “I’m sorry you lost your girl Lucis, I will help you get her back, Pockets too.
You sure that big scary guy will save Pockets? I mean he was scary, do you understand what I’m saying? Scary.” You hug the kender back, and you start to see tracers. You start fighting to breath, and start to lose feeling thru your body.
“First of all, Rotas need to get over here and save his people. We got a fight on our hands. I don’t know what fate these Mischta are supposed to have, I have a few Ideas of how to defend this Island, but I don’t know what your mind is. A woman’s mind on top of all that. Not to mention a Queen in some places, deity on others. I can’t believe, first one deity, now another. I don’t know Zev, what do you think?

General Granitehammer, word is reaching you in various ways. You finally get your new X.O. Wilkes to collect all the info, get with my J-3, and break all the raw info down to sizable bits so I can digest them. For now, Granitehammer goes down and sees some wounded troops, before seeing the results of Medical planning.
Col. Weiss has a triage center near the mouth of Gateway and Solace Road. There is a large tent that is being used as the morgue.
Buzzards fly nearby.
Not trying to get the way, you trek out of the Command Area of Gateway, and visit the newly furbished hospital wing. You meet Medical General Harris.
Casualty Reports have reached upwards of 2 thousand dead, another thousand and a half combat wounds and dragonbreath affected wounded.
“I was thinking that the mountains in the east would serve as a good burial tomb, until be leave back to Soreel. If there is another location that would be better, then I am all ears.”
1st and 3rd ACR received viscous wounds and dead. They fought oozes, and puddings. Acid Wounds, and crushed survivors. Only the Wounded came back sir, the Main forces of the ACR’s are still up by Wolfgaard.”
You still have you meeting with General Rockglade, and that is coming up.
April 8, 2003 Rebellion VI: Winter Night
Somewhere, at an undisclosed location in the South Woods.
Word is sent back with Infernus, seemingly the Dragon General of Beryl’s forces. The Word was the Wolverines have agreed to the peace treaty, broached by Major Glock.
“Did you think I would be pleased with this information Infernus?”
“I understand my Lady, I know you had problems with the treaty. Lord Ortaz, and Major Glock both signed off on the plan, and they carried it out without my knowledge. Right now the wolverines are cutting up Tyberious at Gateway. We should crush these mortals before they are able to get any more of a foothold here on Krynn.”
“You and I think more alike then I first thought General. Yes, The treaty was against my wishes, but perhaps we can turn this around. I want our forces to hold at Twin Peaks, Haven, and Qualinesti. We do not lose control there. I want round the clock dragonflights up there, making sure the Wolverines remembers that we are here, and we aren’t going anywhere. I want patrols near New Ports; word has reached me that it has fallen, thanks to the minotaurs bugging out.
General Tarnax, reinforce the boarder checkpoints, and round the clock mounted patrols of Qualinesti lands. Nobody gets into Qualinesti at night. Take this message Tarnax, and have my messenger take it to Medan.
Marshal,
Reinstate the Secret Police you disbanded last year. Start rounding up sympathizers again, and put them in the southern prison. Tell the senate they will be next if they don’t give up names.
Reinforce Haven with Knights 9 fold. Institute patrols on the banks of the White Rage River.
I have sent a letter to Lord of Night Targonne to enforce our treaty with the use of Blue Dragon flights.
If any member of the Wolverines violates Qualinesti lands, bring word to me immediately. They will be trying to contact the Rebellion soon, be on the watch for it. Send no more tax collectors out during the winter to the Elves or the Dwarves. We will let them slide for the time being. Make public pronouncements that a military occupational force is on the north boarders with intentions of sacking Qualinost. We will use your good faith you have built up with the elves to convince the elves that the wolverines want elven whores and riches this spring. If the elves are helpful to the Wolverines in anyway, those elves will forfeit living under my laws, and be given to the elven senate to pass their own sentence on the traitors. Make sure the senate knows that I expect that sentence be death or I will begin to question their usefulness. Any elves associating with any one on the outside is a traitor to their own people. Make sure the elves know that you are doing this for their own good.
I will be in contact with you soon.
Beryllinthranox
Get that message underway now.”
When General Tarnax comes back.
“The both you understand this, these mortals, these Wolverines are not to be underestimated, or a price will be paid, like Tyberious learned. This is a test, as laughable as it is; it is a test to maintain our control of Abanasinia. We have killed enough of their people to make it personal for them now. When the time comes, the wolverines should understand they made it personal when they first stepped on the battlefield against me. No quarter will be given, when we strike, we will destroy them.”
June 1, 2003
Note: I know this topic is more or less closed for now, but I had some issues that I wanted to detail for the record to take place during this period of downtime. -Dixie Once Wolfgaard Keep has been cleared of traps and hazards, engineering teams will be dispatched to make the minor repairs needed to make the structure fast, and the Expeditionary Force Command Staff will relocate from the camps to the Solamnic fortress. The hospital areas will occupy the lower level of the keep, while the command staff works upstairs. Units will be rotated off-duty for R&R a battalion at a time, while the rest of the army performs battle drills, anti-dragon ballista crew training, and attends field training schools in new enemy-specific tactics, taught by NCOs who gained their experience the hard way. Orders are given to NAVCOM to ship as many supplies as possible in an attempt to stockpile foodstuffs and prevent shortages in case of enemy interdiction activity. Combat Service Support (CSS) units are to set up field hospitals and mess halls to help serve the civilian refugees at Solace and other population centers. Recruiting drives are held to bring the native civilians into service against the Horde, and Basic Combat Training camps are established to Wolverine standards to process incoming recruits. Advanced schools are established to give an accelerated training schedule for Infantry, Warwagon crews, and Mobile Infantry units rotating out of the BCT camps for the natives. Redgar's "super-ballista" project is given full support from higher headquarters, making it a priority project. NORCOM and SOCOM proceed to dig in and fortify, making for a very hard target indeed should the goblins come boiling out of Haven or Qualinesti. AIRCOM, under the direction of Colonel General Hjortarian, trains ferociously, remembering their fallen comrades from the last engagement with the dragons. Dougan Granitehammer, Commander of Ansalon Expeditionary Forces, visits the young men, women, elves, dwarves, and others under his command, hoping to bolster morale and give a sense of purpose and duty to his troops. Meanwhile, he waits to hear the results of his messages to the Qualinesti elves and Thorbardin dwarves. Will they agree to meet him, or cower forevermore under the claws of the Dragon? The commanding general of the finest, most powerful army ever to operate on Krynn intends to hone his instrument of war to an infinitely sharp blade to cut the veil of darkness shrouding this land.
--From the DM, This site is reopened for a while to let there be some role-playing to take place.
It is Yule, and the shortest day of the year. There is a blizzard at the moment; the northeast wind is dumping 24 inches of snow on the Abanasinian Planes.
The Goblin plague infected bodies have been disposed of properly, and the fallen knights are given high honor burials.
Wolfgaard has indeed been reclaimed. There is debris in the town itself, as the Wizards that inhabited the tower here, set off a booby trap and destroyed the Dark Knight command here in the Fort.
--NORCOM
The Hospital has been established, and 16% of the Solamnics return to Wolfgaard, and reestablish the Knight control. Most of the Knights will stay on the Haven Road Defense Line in NORCOM Zone.
The 3rd Army is up there as NORCOM, based on the West side of Solace, under the Command of Lt. General Redgar Rockglade from Arimal. As of late, General Rockglade has been shuttling back and forth from NORCOM to Wolfgaard for consultations and War Planning for the next phase.
Col. Nathaniel Barada, C.O. of the 382nd Heavy Infantry Brigade is now Rockglade’s X.O. in which Barada commands NORCOM when the Lt. Gen. Rockglade is out of Area of Operations.
Barada’s X.O. becomes the Sigoon sea elf, Captain Kaylin Silverleaf, as she commands the 347th Archery Brigade in the Northern Defense. --SOCOM The Commanding officer of Southern Forces is Major General Maximus Hjortarian C.O. of Wolverine Air Forces. He has divided his time between administrative duties, and patrols, to guard the skies. Maximus has also been a presence at the Wolfgaard Compound for War planning.
The Air Crews have been training up to come out on top in the next go around with the Green Dragon’s minions.
Lt. General Mitul Parikh serves as the J-3 (Tactical-Planning). His Report is this-
Some of the western sections of the White-Rage River has frozen over, making good bridge crossing points. I think we need to develop more information and fast.
The J-2, Lt. Col. Ismenia Castros speaks up, “ Some of our elves has met a few of the indigenous elves of Qualinesti, and they say that there is a Horde on the western Flank. Aircrews are having a difficult time detecting the enemy because of the double and triple tree-canopy. You know RECON teams are out, operating from CENCOM (Gateway). We have teams out on the White-Rage river, dressed as the indigenous Qualinesti so as to not break the agreement with the Green.”
Hjortarian's X.O., Lt. General Elisabeta Srivastava is from the air force, and deal primarily with the air wings, making sure everything runs all right. --CENCOM Commanding Officer of the Wolverine Expeditionary Force is Col. General Dougan Granitehammer of Arimal. He works out of Wolfgaard, but his Home Unit is CENCOM out of Gateway. Special Forces Command is based out Gateway, as is the 1st Division under the command of Lt. General Ellis.
--Wolfgaard Wolverine Expeditionary Force Command is based here under Col. General Dougan Granitehammer. His J-staff is overseeing the overall command of Theatre Operations of Solace Vale. There is a large War Room, that houses many war maps, as wells as a central Map Table of lands under the protection of Wolfgaard and outer laying regions of Abanasinia to include the north coast, New Ports, Haven and Qualinesti and Thorbardin.
Lord Wolfgang II is in charge of the Stronghold for the Knights, his father having helped carve this fortress out of the rock of the Solace Peaks. His command is limited to Defense at the moment, and Wolfgang II works with Lord Warren of Solace in the defense of that Town in conjunction with NORCOM. Chromatic Dragons still fly out of reach of the Air Defenses, but they make no hostile act as well the signed accords of the ceasefire.
There is an issue with the Plainsmen Confederation of Tribes. It would seem a indeterminate number of Wolverine Soldiers are being held by hostile northern Tribes not in agreement with the Confederation Leadership. It is not known if these Soldiers are alive or dead, and at least for the moment, these Plainsmen of the Que-Shu seem to be handling it internally. Dougan you have recently learned about the Que-Shu, and their proud history, but the missing men under your command are weighing on you. As for the rest, The Training Center is set up, and several aspirants are training up for possible battle. The War Sgt.’s are top notch when it comes to teaching and training, and you are happy with the results so far.
Supplies are coming thru¸ but mostly from Long Ridge up north, by Proxy of North Keep. A Fine Knight up there at North Keep, not a Solamnic, but a true Knight of an order from a time before the 1st Cataclysm. Lord Owen Mantilla has been generous in trade and overland shipping.
Tantallon was a viable resource in the Forsaken Mountains, but the internal conflicts in the Plainsmen tribes have cut that resource off.
A War Session will be called for the end of the week. All department heads will get together and have think tank on the Solace Vale Theatre of Operations.
A Griffin approaches with two riders to Wolfgaard. They drop a white flag to land. They come to a rest on an outer battlement, and the riders disembark, and soon meet with the watch officer. The riders are then escorted to an antechamber, to see the C.O.
At your room Dougan, it is midnight, and you have just got to bed. You had been up since 8:00 this morning, and you just got done looking over some old things from home. There is a knock at your door, and it is your J-2 of Intelligence.
“Sir, two Qualinesti Elves to see you on the matter of trilateral meeting of the Qualinesti and Thorbardin at New Ports. They request to meet you immediately.”
NAVCOM
Dragons patrolling the south Theatre see the Wolverine caravan traveling north to Wolfgaard. The Dragons do a series of flybys at New Ports, and now they know that the Enemy has taken their New Sea outlet. New Ports sends word that sending caravans from New Ports may not be a safe option now. Schallsea has became a resource, as has Caregoth, Port o’ call, and Crossing.

Wolverine Command
And so it has happened. General Dougan Granitehammer ordered the strike on 25th of Mishamont in the year Thirty-Eight of Secondus Cataclius in the Age of Mortals.
What led to that declaration was startling news that enemy agents compromised the army. The word is sent out within the hour to the messengers.
The weather is going to clear for the next week into Chislmont. No moon, the Pass will clear.
There is a chance the army will be held up by this obstacle. The Pass is still impassable; at least that is what everyone thinks.
Bombs have been place all through the Solace Pass to clear the drifts. They are scheduled for t-minus 10 hours for maximum effect.
The units are all on Alert status, just like the drills they have preformed in the winter. They beat record time getting ready and to their posts and units. Sergeants are on everyone’s ass and making sure everybody is ready for deployment.
The Air force is also on alert; flyers are in the classrooms, going over target packages. The trainers and maintenance are taking care of the mounts and getting them ready for flight
War Wagons are trained up and ready for action. Armaments are loaded and drivers go over pre-flight checklist.
The Green Peril flew thru here on a sightseeing tour that left everyone scrambles out of the way. It brought home the fact that that Bitch can wipe the Wolverines out with her Dragon Forces alone.
The element of surprise was the only way to go.
The Air Force goes first the night before, striking at different points along the Dark Knight, Undead, Draconian and Goblin forces, keeping them off balance for the next play in the playbook.
The multiple explosions blows thru the Pass, sending snow everywhere and causing more snow to fall from the mountains. Shockwaves go thru the Pass region. More blasts cut through the Pass clearing a way to get to the enemy.
The enemy is caught off guard and scrambles to action.
The Wolverine Machine is locked and loaded and goes into Battle.
The 3rd ID moves into Darken Wood to fight and flank their way into Haven.
A Token Force is left at New Ports at the Dark Knight Fort.
By Dixie
Dougan paces the room, somewhat resembling a rather short, stocky tiger in a cage. Third Infantry is heavily engaged in Darken Wood. I hope they didn't expect a casual stroll through the forest. Finally, the dwarf sits. reaching into a locked desk drawer, he pulls a file so confidential, he is literally the only person on this world or any other who even knows it exists. Not for much longer. The general looks over the plan for what must be the thousandth time in the last four hours, looking for the minutest flaw. He sighs. "No plan survives first contact with the Enemy," he mutters, and places the folder back in its place, relocking the drawer after it. Walking to the door, Dougan tells his page, "Go and fetch up Mistress Joan. I have orders for her."
“We have him here at headquarters. I know you have issues with the mages, but Mistress Joan is gone, taken over by somebody called Granov, but this is a chance for to learn something about these creatures.”

July 2005?
Disaster Chapter 11 (heh-heh) By the DM
Scouts both on the ground and in the air check the progress of the melting snow in the valley. At this rate it will weeks before the road is passable. It is five days hence the lighting strike on the forward command and control center atop Twin Peaks and still no reaction from the Dragonarmies. Damn peculiar.
Granitehammer rubs his beard and looks to his coffee. Word just came in that Team 4 is dead along the White Rage River. They were inserted to probe defenses on the southern boarder of Darken Wood. A risky mission, but that was required to be tried in any event. Sad though. The whole team was wiped out.
The undead in Darken Wood has certainly changed the dimensions of this fight, but still trying to figure out what the new dimensions are exactly. Ambassador Ambrodel has assured you that the elves are reading their forces, getting into position, but how long do you have to wait?
The Retrieval Team that was inserted to find Team 4 says the White Rage River is swelling, and the bridge is out, cutting off infantry from the south should the Knights decide they want to be a pain in the ass anytime soon, but that is little comfort in that the Dragons could and will come anytime now.
Have to get an edge… somehow… so what’s it going to be?
Interlude:
A Guard walks down the hall near the detention block on a normal patrol. He looks in on one of the Draconian females in their cell.
End Interlude 1
Chief Operations Planning Officer Col. Joben Manus goes his notes and most recent intell. He rubs his temples in frustration. This is a mess. One of the hardest situations he has come across ever. He looks to the detailed maps in under his notes. Is the answer right there staring back at him? The General is frustrated too. What can we do here? Counter Intelligence Liaison Lt. General Vannya Adrianzen bursts into the room and tells Joben most distressing news.
They literally run to the War Room where Granitehammer has been spending most of his time.
The War Room
Granitehammer sets his coffee down after getting a mild heart attack from them busting into the room. He looks at them.
“Sir, Vannya, she…” Joben is rocked.
“Sir,” The Counter Intelligence Liaison picks it up, “Sir I reported to you several days ago that we had found some dead soldiers, hidden in various places across our A.O. My task force has been tracking down leads and one of these leads led us to an AWOL artillery Sgt. Winnik of the 122nd War Wagon group. He was in the Tent City of Solace when our soldiers moved in. We tried to take him alive, but he would not have it. My troops moved in and tried to subdue when Winnik grew to nine feet tall, turned into a silver scaled Draconian. He got on all fours and charged until it got close enough and took to the air. I had no idea these things could fly, only that they could glide down. Troops immediately took to the tree city and a few brave souls tackled the creature from the sky, but lost their own lives in the fall to the ground. The creature was put down before he could hurt anyone else. The Sivak, as that is what he was called by the locals, took on the appearance of the soldier that ran him thru.”
“We have him here at headquarters. I know you have issues with the mages, but Mistress Joan is gone, taken over by somebody called Granov, but this is a chance for to learn something about these creatures.”
“Sir, this is bad. If this shapechanger has been here thru the winter, he may have been able to get word to his people somehow. Hell, there could be more of these in our very midst. Nothing like traitors in camp to raise suspicions on each other to throw whole camps into disarray. A hell of a psychological tactic, whether intended or not.”
“I don’t even have a clue where to start on this mess. There could be dozens of these right out there.”
In the north, near the Air Force base,
Black Dragons have been found all around. A scary thought, but they were found and so the Dragons would leave knowing they were tagged by the Wolverine Air Force only to come back at another time and place to study their enemy.
At Pax Tharkus
Spring is in no hurry to come… still cold as hell. Redgar Rockglade is the ambassador to The Dwarves of Thorbardin and the Rebellion Elvish groups.
Redgar’s accommodations at the Dead Wolf Inn have been fortuitous in that there is a nice saloon where late night diplomacy can take place to hasten the delicate talks.
General Otaxx Shortbeard is a celebrated hero of his people and Commander of the Pax Tharkus Stronghold . You have found out he is of the Daewar Clan, a sort of Blue Collar worker Clan that has supported the Hylar for much of time.
The Elite of Thorbardin has arrived in Pax Tharkus
The Order of the Golden Hammer
Nash Killraven Niedar Dwarven Ranger
Korr Bladeheart Klar Axe for Hire
Ton Axehandle Half Dwarf Battlerager
Gavin Farwatcher Hylar Highborn Sharpshooter
Colin Bluesleave Daewar Fighter/Priest of Kijo of the Blade
Herrick Ironwork Daewar Engineer
Many a drink have you spent with these fine warriors. Plans have been churned thru, while the tankards are consumed.
The Elven Liaison is Aiden Rulan of Shrivost in Qualinesti. He is a Commander in the Wind Riders his mount is named Lyra.
A serious warrior at all times, wondering if you will ever hear this Elf joke and be merry as all elves are…this man puts you at your guard. Aiden’s rebel cell has been responsible for several recent hostile anti dragon contacts.
He tells you elven officers are linking up with Sargents who are reconstituting martial rebellious forces from the populace thru word of mouth.
Everything is going thru as stealthy as possible. Everyone is getting into prepositioned locations for the first push into Qualinesti.
