Reborn

JMS
It has been sixteen months since the Rise of the Tower of Bloodsea, and yet, though you were present, a player, a key, you understand it little better then before. You feel memories have been taken from you, of all your time spent at the Tower of Bloodsea, and your time with Nuitari, but you have the lingering believe that you were there and you saw it all, maybe… you saw too much.
For now though, you have a home. A Tower was erected for you in the woods of your birth in Lemish. You somehow know it to be a temporary home, as you don’t quite feel settled in.
The Planes are locked from you or you would have left by now. The transports have stopped coming from Soreel, and the Wolverines are yet again locked in place for some reason. The Gods rumble in the sky via large thunderclouds that sweep the plains, you know something is transpiring, but is being kept from you.
Your God has not spoken to you in quite sometime, though you believe this Tower was erected in Love from him. Parts of you hate him for so many reasons and yet, he is your dark lord, your dark prince. Why does he stay away, what keeps his thoughts from you?
Aravis is living in New Ports for the time being. Her experiences in the Gray and then her Test has left her quiet and you believe she is recovering from many wounds of the mind, body and soul. Lucius has tended to her ever want and need since returning, their bond has only strengthened over the course of their trials if fire. They live in a quiet villa along the sea, along with their pet Gully Dwarf that has served Luicus side since nearly the beginning of that fateful journey south three years ago. You know she will again rejoin the world, but now, she rests.
Zeva and Rotas live in Gateway, though the day to day operations of the Wolverines are in the capable hands of one Dougan Granitehammer. Zeva and Rotas had a girl two months after the War of Souls, which would make her nearly two years old now.
Damara and the twins are saving the elves in Khur, trying hard to get killed in that god forsaken land.
Talidaar is gone somewhere, true you have not checked with his wife, but you feel somehow he has escaped this world and is out there, growing and becoming something else, reaching his apex.
Word from your spies tell you Dalamar has not been at Wayreth in all this time, leading you think he has been at Bloodsea or he also is being shut out and has somewhere else to lie low.
Jenna is rebuilding the order, opening and funding schools across Ansalon. There is a school you have been thinking of visiting in a Town called Joltan in Nordmaar, a floating city containing a school of the Dark Arts. Kalana taught there for a time, but she has been missing for the last sixteen months and it is possible that she is licking her wounds there.
You have been toying with the idea of meeting the White Robe Master Coryn in Palanthas. You have watched her nearly single-handedly take back Palanthas and the whole of Solamnia back from the Dark Knights occupiers, though she is an upstart, so
-called child-prodigy of magic and a White Robe to boot, she has braved acts that even you can’t sneer at. It is time to meet her mettle and see if she bends or breaks. Besides, you and she are neighbors now, with the Tower of Palanthas having been moved to Nightlund now and she is gathering her forces to take it as is all due her right as you understand it to be. The Three Brothers of Magic divided the Towers between them, Wayreth going to Lunitari, Bloodsea to Nuitari, and Nightlund to Solinari, not quite fair in your view, but you can only guess your Dark Prince knows what he is doing, you hope. Yes, meeting this Coryn is something you will do soon.
This last thing though, this last thing you want to think about is coming to the forefront of your mind again. Never mind all the studying you have done on the books you found under Sanction, or the plans you made to do after the War was all over, to go back to Wayreth and assert your influence on the Conclave…. actions that reamain unfulfilled. No, this thing that has happened to you has debilitated your ability to move freely with ease. No, you still have the use of your legs and arms and hands and are for the most part whole. No, you are not thinking of your inability to cross over to the planes at a whim anymore. No, you have gotten old.
Not that you are not old, but you never showed your true age, not by your doing, no, you have never been vain and cast your tresses about your shoulders to steal looks from admirers. No, you have never been that way. For whatever reason, be it a charm given to you by your Dark Prince, your even the possibility that such a charm is from Sargonnas, you dark benefactor from so long ago now, was that charm from him?
Either way, you look ancient, much older then most humans live, so you never thought about your looks, so now, do you still, or is there some feeling of being cheated? You have always done more then what they wanted, are you now being thrown away, like last season’s wardrobe?
There is more to this and so now, you have a choice of what to do next, so what will you do now?
Much left to do….

Pacing with the energy of an elder with unfinished business, Karnea resolves that something must be done about the regrettable state of her physical being.
Summoning her trusted aide Talron to her side, Karnea explains what it is she needs from him in the hushed tones of the aged and infirm. Talron bows low to his Master, and sets out upon his appointed task.
Mission for the Master
By Don
Talron leaves the tower, going into the nearest town. Browsing thru the town, he finds a suitable subject: young, pretty, without ailments. He will tail the young female to her house, and once her abode is located, leave for the tavern, to have dinner, and wait. Once the cover of night has arrived, he will wait until the town has lulled itself into its own deep sleep, and head out. Once reaching the young lady’s home, he will sneak in, grab her, knocking her out in the process, and take her back to his master. Anyone unfortunate to get in his way will be given an express ticket to a meeting with their respective maker.
Lemish
By the DM
You do raise the suspicions of a guard, roaming the perimeter, but as you say, you make sure work of him before he can raise the alarm.
You heft the human girl’s body over your shoulder and make into the woods, hoping there isn’t a goblin raid tonight light the Villagers were worried about in the Inn.
You are moving thru the woods when you hear a disturbance up ahead. You freeze by a tree and watch as a group of 16 gobs are coming towards the village, and passing you on their way. For a few hearting beating moments you see them walk past in the brush.
One stops, and sniffs the air, and you could swear he looking in your direction, but he moves on. You do not spare a second, you are out of there and on your way to the Dark Tower.
From the history you have gathered from the natives, before the Cataclysm struck Krynn, Lemish was a part of the Empire of Ergoth. As the Empire slowly decayed, Lemish joined the nation of Solamnia in order to better protect itself. However, the populace resented this move, and have remained angry every since.
Following the Cataclysm Lemish was completely cut off from Ergoth, and built port cities to capitalize on the sudden appearance of the Newsea at their southern border. Solamnia has tried to annex Lemish multiple times after the Cataclysm, yet have continually been driven back by the Lemish natives. At one point the Lemish goaded the Nerakans and the Solamnics into a war that lasted fifty years. These became known as the Nerakan Wars.
One other conflict of note that took place between the Knights of Solamnia and Lemish was The Outcrying. This is the conflict that the Knights of Solamnia call The Rebellion. The areas of Lemish, Southlund, and Solamnia, they were led by Ragnell of the Sieges and fought into the heart of Solamnia. Vingaard Keep fell to her forces along with Castle Brightblade,
Castle di Caela, and Castle Jochanan in the year 335 A.C. During the War of the Lance, Lemish allied with the forces of the Dark Queen in order to be -able to attack Solamnia. Their forces led the attacks against Garnet, Caergoth, and Solanthus.
Since the War of Souls ended, goblins, hobgoblins, and ogres are now overrunning Lemish and driving humans from it. The rallying of the human denizens of Lemish against the invading goblin-kind has been slow to react.
You make it back to Karnea’s Tower and enter.
Dark Deeds
By Don
Walking into the central atrium, Talron turns to the door guards. "There may be a slight disturbance from the village. Do NOT let anything from the outside disturb my mistress. I will be most displeased if you do."
Continuing on to Karnea's laboratory, he calls two guards to the door. "The Mistress is in the middle of a very difficult and important procedure. At no time are we to be disturbed."
Walking into the laboratory, he closes and locks the door. Walking over to the table he gently places the girls unconscious body down, securing the hands and feet.
"As you requested, my mistress."
Stepping back, Talron remains silent, watching.
Act of Ultimate Darkness
By Adam
"Excellent work, my friend. Excellent," Karnea says as she rises from the soft chair in the room. Walking to the large stone table in the center of the lab, she inspects her "prisoner," running her fingers through the girls hair, turning her face about to look at it from all angles. Satisfied, she picks up an immense book bound in dark grey leather, which turns slightly pink at Karnea's touch.
"You have done well, Talron. Very well indeed," Karnea says, breaking into a wracking cough. Recovering her wind, Karnea continues, "Let's begin."
Turning her full attention to the book, she begins to read the ancient, arcane words, her voice rising and falling with the cadence of the spell. Though the room has no windows to the outside, it becomes tangibly colder in the room, and the air takes on a stillness matched only by that found in a tomb.
Talron watches the spellcasting with rapt attention, when Karnea abruptly stops speaking. Talron almost thought he could see the apparition of the two females emerge from their bodies, swirl about each other briefly, then flit off to enter them again, with Karnea's entering that of the young girl, and the girl's entering Karnea's body. A wave of cold washes over the room suddenly, and then all is calm again. Talron realizes that the spell is ended.
"Talron, please help me remove these bonds. I'll not be needing them any longer," he hears a young girl's voice call to him from the table. Looking over, he sees Karnea's former body lying on the floor near the table, apparently collapsed from exhaustion.
Talron removes the bonds from his mistress' arms and legs, and steps back as she arises from the table. Walking behind a dressing screen, Karnea removes the commoner's simple clothes and dons her robes. Stepping out from behind the screen, she looks at Talron. "The fit is a bit odd, but I'm sure that I'll adjust. Remove that one," she gestures to her former body, "but do not dispose of it just yet. I may have need of it. Inform the staff that I am not to be disturbed until morning. I am exhausted from the spell and need to sleep before we do anything else." Karnea walks to the door leading to her private chamber. "And Talron, be ready. We still have much to do."
Complicit
By Don
Nodding at Karnea, Talron looks her over. "A bodily improvement, if I do say so my mistress. Although in retrospect," he bends down covers the old body up so as not to alarm the guards before picking it up and throwing it over his shoulder "you humans all look pretty much the same to me anyway." Smiling at her, he turns and goes out the door. Looking darkly at the guards at the door Talron says "The mistress is tired, and wishes to rest. No one is to disturb her. Am I Clear?!" Seeing them nod, Talron continues down to the dungeons. Going to a room built for solitary confinement, he will sit the girl down on the floor, binding and gaging her. Then, closing and locking the door, he will put the key on the chain holding the Dragonbane Insignia he wears underneath his shirt around his neck. Returning to his room, he will lay down and take a nap, while waiting for his summons.
