The Griffins touch down outside of Solace at Midday after making a pass of the warzone in the Solace Vale. Solace’s population has expanded by hundreds, as it has become the refugee haven of Abanasinia. You know you not find a place to stay, so you establish your magical living quarters on the Northeast side of the town.
Solace, the crossroads of Abanasinia. Established sometime after the first Cataclysm grew to prominence when it became known that the Heroes of the Lance were from here and the bards immortalized the town and those heroes so that all of Ansalon could tell you that Strum Brightblade and his mother stayed in Solace after their flight from Solamnia, or that Tanis Half-Elf lived with Flint Fireforge here in Solace before the War.
Solace has become one of the largest towns of Abanasinia, and by the far the most popular. So on this blustery cold day, the town was filled with people from all over. Human, Elf, Dwarf and Kender all here, together, with no worry of intolerance, but all are heavy of heart.
Tika Majere may have well been the Matron of Solace, for none had a bad word for her, and none, not even the Town Elders would think of crossing her and her frying pan. She was beloved, and so is her husband, for one and all would say he is the heart of Solace. He has not left The Inn of the Last Home since Tika passed away in her sleep two days ago. He has not left their room, and he has not left his bed. He has not eaten or taken of water, and many are growing more concerned for his life as well. The Town whispers that he will join his beloved wife too, but not around his daughters. They watch over him, but he does not respond to their words of solace. They cry to each other, and wonder where their brother Palin is.
You and your wife walk around a little Talidaar. Lashia will buy a few pies, and other little trinkets, because they are pretty, but mostly to support the merchants who barley turn a profit because of the hard times, and the Dragon Tax.
The First place you go Talidaar, is the Tomb of the Last Heroes. The Tomb is constructed with materials brought from all over Ansalon, and given over by the free races. Made of White Marble to signify purity, and the White Moon Solinari, were donated and brought here by the Dwarves of Thorbardin. The Black Plaque also delved by the Dwarves, represents the Black Moon of Nuitari, and the Black and White together represent the Lily and the Rose and the sacrifices in the final battle of the rift that the Solamnics and the Knights of Takhisis made in that battle against Chaos. The plaques bare the names of those Knights that are buried beneath the tomb.
Steel Brightblade, son of Strum, is buried here, as is the knights that died in that final battle. Tasslehoff Burfoot’s hoopak is stored here, as his body was never found. Tanis Half-Elven
