--Qualinost in old Elven means In memory of Quinara. Named for the Wife of Silvanos, founder of the Silvanesti nation. The true name of the Ancient woodland, that would become Qualinesti, was called Mithranhanna.
-----Deep in the South Woods
Major Glock is put down quite forcibly by Midnight into the presence of the Colossal Green Overlord.
Beryl waits dramatically for the Bozak to right himself.
“I’m waiting Major. I’m waiting for you to tell me why the 6th Horde did not destroy Solace?”
“Overlord, the sacking of Solace was never ordered. The 6th Horde has married up with the 7th Horde in Haven, and they are in place for when the roads thaw. As I understand it, four Hordes are on the move north to meet up with Haven, and all the other Hordes should be ready to move at your direction.”
“A nice roll Major, but it won’t work with me. I do not forgive or forget. You were supposed to hold Solace Vale, and this spring we were to finish taking the rest of Abanasinia. That’s not going to happen now, is it?”
“My Overlord, the Wolverine Army was not a foreseen player on the board. They interfered in our affairs. The Horde was outnumbered. Surely you see my point? They are the ones that should be punished”
“Indeed they shall, but at my discretion. I’m told they have a formidable Air Force, and several Heavy Divisions. This is a setback, and in the end, perhaps you did the right thing.”
Infernus lands nearby, and makes his way to the meeting.
“General Infernus, how nice of you to join us.” The fat Overlord remarks.
“My Overlord, New Ports has been taken by the Wolverines. Apparently this has happened a few weeks ago, and so that installation is out of our hands. The Wolverines are now in striking distance of Qualinesti, should they move heavy Forces there.”
“I thank you for this information Infernus. General Tarnax, write a Dispatch to the leader of the 7th Brood, have him reinforce his forces at the Whiterage River, and alert him to this change. Major Glock, you will coordinate with Midnight on a scheme to foment scare tactics that can be used on the Qualinesti. I want them to fear the Wolverines. Enough so that they attack the Wolverines should they come across the boarder. You will then meet with the Marshal and gives him these plans. His Skull Knights will put to task. And Major, don’t fail me again. No second chances on this one.”
After everyone has left from her presence except for Infernus, Beryllinthranox looks over to the Red General. “Infernus, Make sure our Army is ready to move. These reports I hear of the Rebellion tire me. I have enough Taxes from the elves and they bore me. I will be glad when the pests are gone from my forest, once and for all.”
-----At Merwellyn wood,
Damara meets her sister Lashia for lunch a Dae Dyrnastaerynfalos. Their parents are at the shelter with the twins.
“I need some help Lash.” Damara says.
“What do you need?”
“I need help getting some families out so that I can gain the support of Officers from the Army. They won’t help unless I get their families out of Qualinesti.”
“Bring them here.” Lashia says after reviewing the possible places where they could go.
“What will Tal say?” The Griffin Commander asks of her Brother-in-law, and master of this wood.
“I will explain things to him, and if he doesn’t agree then he can help me move the families somewhere else. The Rangers of Silvan Vale will watch over the elves, and it’s not like the families are humans. These will respect the wood, and not move where they aren’t supposed to go.”
“Thank you my sister. I don’t know what to say . . . “
“Helping the Rebellion is enough for me Damara. Anything I can do.”
An Owl soars into the wood, and lands nearby, then flies up to the patio and drops off his letter to Lashia.
Dear Master Lashia,
I have transcribed the letters that you sent to me. They were Hulderfolk in origin, from the time of the Age of Dreams. I found the information from a book called the History of the Lost ones, by Chisel Loremaster. In it, it does not go into detail on the Hulderfolk, but there are many gateways across the Continent that somehow transports the Gatewalker to the mythical land of the Gray. I have found no other information on the Gray, and am asking around, but it seems it is a forbidden subject. I wanted to get this out to you and will continue to dig into this mystery.
Sincerely,
Jaclyn Cashell
Head Librarian for the Tower of Wayreth
The Transcriptions follow on the next page. Lashia briefly looks over these, and has her owl, Rayel rest before her next mission. She has Rayel go up to the Owlery and tell Horus that at nightfall, Lashia will have a letter ready for Talidaar.
-----At the Keep in the Undead Zone,
The Litch walks into his study where Skull Knight Gannon Dirge is studying a book called the Life of Undeath, by Magius Sarin Raldan.
“Learning anything? The Litch inquires.
“Much my Lord. I thank you for letting me read these tomes.”
“It is nothing Sir Dirge. This Mystical power that you have taught me is interesting indeed. It has feelings that I have not been able to pin it to, but I feel the presence, of an old friend.”
“Who my Lord?”
“It is not time to tell you yet my student, but soon. Lord Kang was ordered to bring forth an legion of the dead, and so was I. Something is about to happen, and I have yet to find out what that something is. Your coming here was a sign no doubt about that. These Wolverines are bothering me though. I have my legion on the road. They watch for that Wolverines Army to march, and we will be ready for them.”
-----Into the South Wood,
Goes the Rebels led by the Lioness. This is the final leg south. Scouts are out on point and on the flanks, looking for signs of the enemy. They stay in the wood, and avoid the roads. They are quick, and they are silent. Goblin Worg teams are on patrol, making sure all is secure. It is to the trees now that the rebels take to.
Eloise, you are on one of those flanks. You hear water nearby, and are drawn to it. A deep gorge is down here, and seemingly no Goblin activity.
Wydara, you are on point with Aridu, the Bladesinger. Everyone is on edge, and everyone is looking out.
They come to the treeline of a gigantic field where the Goblin Amy of Beryl has established a camp of immense proportions. There is engineered trenches, and camps, and walls. The wasted countryside tells the tale of unrestrained lumbering of this once wooded area. There are perhaps, millions of Hobgoblins and goblin-kind all throughout this camp.
-----On the Northeastern Boarder of Qualinesti-
Word does not reach the Dark Knight Central Command to halt a caravan carrying supplies destined for New Ports. It is too late to stop this oversight.
-----Sovost and Damara glides near the Wolverine Air Force Base, and flies into Qualinost at night. She meets with Karalathana and Mox of Scamp’s crew, and buys some useful information. They agree that Damara will meet with Pirie Quicknight, the current leader of the Crew.
Later that night, Damara takes a secret pass to the home of Laurana.
They speak in the underground hall that was dug out in secret by the dwarves.
They speak about the Wolverines, and how they can make contact. And the land routes the Wolverines would have to take to get into Qualinesti. The passes that the Goblin army will take is marked in red. Word has come in that the Hobgoblins are building a force on the White Rage. Damara relates to Laurana about the families getting out, and that several Officers will be back in the game soon.
Damara and Laurana go over troop movements in the immediate areas of concern.

“I will gather my Windriders and we will go to these free zones and see what we may see. Wayend sounds promising, as does Bonfaire and Antanost. If anything, we need friends. I will put Amarya on it. By the way, how is Gil doing?” Damara Ambrodel asks.
“He has his days. He is a strong boy, but he goes thru a lot with the Thalas-Enthia. They eat at him, and all the laws and dealing with the Knights . . . It is just hard on him but he manages it.”
“So the Dwarves are carrying thru with their part?”
“So far as we know. Annu reported movement underground near Gillinost. Our next meeting with Tarn is in early spring, at the Grub and Suds. Kerianseray set it up. She will hook Gil up with Thane Bellowgranite.” Laurana says.
“Speaking of Kerian, where is she?” Damara asks.
“With your Brother and two sisters-in-laws heading into the South Wood. They are going to try to find Beryl.” The Golden General replies.
“That sounds exciting. I take it Gil doesn’t know?”
“That would be a safe assumption, but he worries anyway. He’s a worrier, my boy.”
“A lot like his father. More then he knows right?” Damara observes without thinking.
“Yes, more then he knows.” Lauranathana answers back softly.
-----A Griffin lands near the Grub and Suds, and it’s rider slides off, and makes their way to the Tavern. Once inside, the rider walks to the bar, and slips the bartender a Scroll and a slip of paper. The Bartender hands the scroll to a waitress, and she takes it to a slot in the back, where the scroll drops down into a bin underground. The Scroll is read by a Qualinesti flag officer. He reads over the Scroll, and goes and calls over a rider. “Make haste and take this scroll is New Ports. Take it to the one known as M, at the Sea Gem.”
The rider is off in a flash on horseback, heading northeast.
-----The Next morning, at New Ports
The over half of the Crew is settling into the Sea Gem, and refurbishing it after the minotaurs have resided here since the Chaos War.
The Human Bard, Sheila and the Daewar Dwarf, M has gotten all the supplies they need, and have purchased a Warehouse on the loading docks.
As always, Marv is the enforcer. There to intimidate during business deals.
Slick Willy is on the streets, listening to what’s going down.
Cleo, the black north Ergothian Assassin is doing much the same thing as Slick Willy is doing. Just walking the town, getting a feel of the surroundings.
A messenger arrives to the Sea Gem, and she passes a Scroll to The Dwarf behind the Bar. M reads the Scroll, and gives the messenger food and beverage. Then he hooks the rider up with a bed to rest, then has Marv water and feed the steed outside.
-----On the East span of the archway in Qualinost, near Suzine Tower,
Marshal Medan walks, occasionally stopping, and looking down at the city he governs. In honor of Yuletide, elven families make special wind chimes and hang them outside their homes. The chimes float on the winter air. It is a chilling experience.
The Marshal has come to love this time of year. The effect on Medan is that it calms him, as he knows he getting ready to have a visitor. It is one of the Kagonesti brothers that serve Laurana.
“Kalindas, what do you have for me?” The Marshal asks.
“The Queen Mum has been meeting with the dark elf Ambrodel Daughter.”
“Ambrodel . . .isn’t that the House Protectorate family, from way back in the time of Kith-Khan?” The Marshal asks.
“I believe that is so Lord.” The Kagonesti traitor says, “They have been discussing strategies, and where your troops are.”
“Make sure you are in listening range the next time they have a “strategy session” and remember what they say, and report it directly to me. You have done well thus far Kalindas, keep it up, and up will be free to live your life, and that of your brother.” With that, the Marshal pulls out a moneybag, and he hands it to the Wilder elf.
The servant spy leaves, and the Marshal contemplates his command. The Golden General remains a threat, even into these times. If only she was slier. I hate it that you have been caught. It has taken a while, but I know almost everything you do. It would kill me if I had to kill you, and I hope you don’t make have to. I hate that we have to live as enemies, I have come to love and respect you, and I even regret the fact that I am human. There is no more honorable rationale to hold these elves in our grasp. They care only for themselves, and they don’t care what happens beyond their boarders.
The Marshal returns to his headquarters, his day not over yet. He goes to his office and opens some files that he has taken of Elven personalities
Damara Ambrodel. Commander of the Windriders, served for nearly two hundred years. Brother is the Guardian of the Suns, but he died recently. Father was ejected from the senate when Speaker Gilthas was crowned, whereabouts currently unknown.

A messenger arrives for the Marshal, a Baaz draconian named Tranax.
Dictates from Beryl. He reads thru them, and takes notes. He starts a list of things to do the next day.
Marshal Medan cuts orders for the 4,200 Knights of Neraka on guard at Havlinost, on the southern boarder on the Ahlanlas River to force march to Qualinost within 10 Days.
